TYPICALLY for
safety reasons... Hot surface ignitions will only attempt to light a FEW times and then
locks out...
As you already know these things have
EXPLOSIVE CAPABILITIES...
TECHNICALLY you can USUALLY reset the gas flow
by cutting the power and restoring power...
IT IS AN EXTREMELY UNWISE thing to do without
placing a
NEW... WORKING
hot surface igniter...
The hot surface should be GLOWING
before the
gas starts...
Do yourself a favor and forget about touching it to
see if it is warm... even BROKEN it has line current
flowing to it and
EVERYTHING around it is grounded...
