Maybe it is having trouble with the size of the memory. Memory cards have grown enormously in capacity in the last couple of years, and even relatively new cameras may not be able to cope with the memory size of the newest cards. It is often difficult to find out the maximum capacity a camera will use, as today's memory cards are much larger that those available when the manuals for the camera was written.
1. got to hp's website (http://www.hp.com)

3. click download drivers and software (and firmware)
4. enter you model number (Pavilion Elite m9400t)
5. select your os (vista 64 bit)
6. download the Fall 2008 Original Intel Matrix Storage Manager Driver
7. install the driver.
insert the card to a card reader then format it in the following way:-
right click my computer then menage then click disk menagement then right click on your card then click format. good luck.
I would suggest reformatting your disk to your camera. We have had those issues and it has cleared it up. Be sure any pics on your camera have been backed-up as you will loose all pics while reformatting. The key is to reformat your disk to your camera (use the camera's menu to located the reformat disk section)...do not use the computer. Hope it works!
An older mac could have rearrange the byte order and thus render the card unusable. Have you tried to format the card in the camera? If this doesn't work contact sandisk for a replacement.
You may need to format the card. There should be a Format command in the Setup menu. To be more specific, one would need to know which model of Finepix camera you refer to.
on the left side or the right side you will see a small slider. that's the lock. http://www.purelygadgets.co.uk/images/user/products/sandisk_4gb_sdhc.jpg
