Direct-Drive Motors are linked directly to the blade and transfer all of the motor’s power to the blade. Belt-Drive Motors have a belt that transfers power from the motor to the blade. In belt drive systems, the motor can be offset away from sawdust generated during operation, causing the motor last longer. Belt drive systems require slightly more preventive maintenance than direct drive systems. So you'll need to check the belts for wear and proper tension periodically.

I have a White Rodgers 1F86-344 and I want to disable the wire for the Air Conditioner. I'm not sure which wire to disconnect for the ac unit only. Can someone assist me? I attached a diagram of the wiring

Without knowing how your controller is configured and what are the systems being controlled, it is a bit difficult to provide specific answers. In the appropriate configurations, the cooling system is controlled by the Y wire. I suggest you look at the wiring diagram for different configuration available at this site.
http://www.emersonclimate.com/Documents/White-Rodgers/Catalog_2010/2010_Cat_pg_157.pdf

A full instruction manual is available at this site and provides different operational modes which may not require that you take out wires but you can isolate the control using the selector switches inside.

When working with the unit be mindful that full mains voltage is connected directly to it.

Windows 7 will always boot to drive letter C: in multiboot configurations.

When configuring a Multi-boot configuration using Windows operating systems, you need to install Windows Versions oldest to newest on separate partitions. In doing so, Windows 7 is going to be installed to Drive D: or E: or such. In all previous versions of Windows, if you have a multi-boot configuration, the drive letter for that OS is always the same as the drive where it was installed.

Windows 7 does things a bit differently. EXAMPLE: I have 3 partitions on my hard drive. C:, D: and E:. XP on C: Vista on D: Windows 7 on E: When I boot to XP, the boot drive letter is C: When I boot to Vista, the boot drive letter is D: (Simple) Well, I learned the hard way that when you boot to Windows 7 from a partition other than C:, it will show the boot drive as C: in Windows 7 (It swaps drive letters with the boot drive and C: transparently). When you boot to the other partitons, the drive letters are as they should be and the change is only effective while booted to the Windows 7 Partition.

My octigen 3.5" slim drive is rated 75 gigabytes but only 4 are available for backup

Depending on your operating system. Start -> control panel->administrative tools->disk management. When the drive shows itself right click on the partition, select delete partition. Then right click on the drive and select simple partition. The OS will then format the drive.

I canot configure an exentral hd that i connect to d-link 6740u

Is this drive connected to a different computer on the network? Could you connect to that drive before this device was installed? You need to make sure it has been shared out to the network, and check that the other computer on that network can 'SEE' that computer. Make sure the IP addresses are automatically assigned by the router. If configuration is the problem, right-click on Computer and select 'Manage'. Check to make sure that the external hard drive is displayed in this application. If it is not, try plugging it into a different port, wait for windows to detect it and install the drivers for it, then, click on the 'Action' menu, and select 'Refresh'. If it comes up it should be available to all others it shares with.

How to configure or enable hardware compression in DW065B LTO1 Drive. When trying to take backup in H/w compression mode the tape (100/200 GB Tape) is ejected.

The L&TT support ticket contains drive configuration information such as whether hardware data compression is enabled or not.
Use L&TT to pull the ticket then look in the Drive->Drive Configuration section for details.
Here's an example:
|__ Drive
||__ Data compression : Enabled
||__ Current block size : Not available
||__ Detect WORM tampering : WORM not supported
||__ Reads after WORM tampering : WORM not supported
||__ Media removal (software controlled) : Allowed
If data compression is not enabled then it is likely that it has been turned off by the backup application. Check the options in your application to ensure that software compression (done by the server) is turned off and hardware compression (done by the drive) is turned on.
Data compression can be turned on in the drive by
  • The application ( the application will usually override the drive configuration so configuring the application correctly is of prime importance)
  • Resetting the drive
  • Power cycling the drive
  • Using the L&TT Set Drive Configuration utility (use the options to enable compression -see the L&TT user guide below)
NetBackup usersCaution NetBackup will turn off hardware compression in the drive at the end of each backup, so when you look at it with Library and Tape Tools it will be off. This is actually normal for NetBackup, so please check the configuration of NetBackup to make sure that compression is configured correctly. In this case see 'Measure Compression Ratio' (go back one level) as that will show whether compression has been in operation in the drive.
Click here to download the free L&TT utility (www.hp.com/support/tapetools) - this will also access the L&TT user guide
Use the L&TT FAQ to find out how to pull a ticket.
Click here for the L&TT FAQ. (www.hp.com/support/lttfaq) Look for How do I generate a support ticket? in the contents.

Drives won't 'write'.

You do not tell us what software you use to access your drives. It sounds like an application has control and has not realesed it. I have had some software carry over a configuration change and no number of restarts will make a difference.

You can also go to start - control panel - system - hardware - device manager. Look under DVD / CDROM manager. If there is a driver or other hardware issue the system will reflect it here.

Need a diagram for serpentine belt for a 1998 Olds 88

There should be a decal on the underside of the hood or on the fan shroud. If not, a local library should have a repair manual available. There are different configurations available on an Olds.

Can not access Dlink DNS313

When you said you tried resetting, did you mean you clicked on the reset button inside the hardware or did you mean you just rebooted?

* If you clicked on the rest buttion, then you need to configure again from scratch. Not sure if your data will still be available though.

* If you just rebooted, then the problem may lie in your LAN configuration. Do the following:

1. Try to ping the device using a PC connected to the same network.
2. If you are using DHCP, your device may just have been assigned a different IP. Try to ping all devices in your network or use a network scanner (e.g. SoftPerfect) to find out the IP address given to it.
3. Once you get the IP address, assign a static IP address to your device that is beyond the DHCP scope. This will ensure that your IP does not change and you will not have a conflict with DHCP assigned IP's.
