There are many reasons why the door may be jammed shut -

1. The water hasn't pumped out properly and the washing machine has a pneumatic door safety lock (a rubber hose connected to the door interlock and connected to a pressure chamber bottle on the tub - water forces air up this tube and locks the door)
2. Washing machine won't empty water
3. The water has pumped out properly, but a blockage of gunge inside the pressure chamber bottle is trapping the air that's operating the door lock (if a pneumatic lock is fitted - not many have these days due to cost cutting)
4. Door interlock jammed
5. Door catch, handle, or mechanism broken
Try running Just the rinse spin cycle again,

Whirlpool Wfw9050x will not advance to spin cycle

Check door switch: If the lid switch is bad it will not drain or spin. Try this test: With lid open let it finish wash cycle. Press lid switch down with screwdriver. Washer should begin draining. Release switch. Motor should stop. Press switch a second time. Washer should start spinning as it continues to drain. If motor doesn't come on while lid switch is pressed, replace the switch. Or

My kitchenAid clothes washer won't always agitate but the timer will finish the cycle

Possible that the timer is not switching the circuit to the designed cycles and so it does not go to the spin mode. It can be due to loss in mechanical contact due to worn out points or dirt accumulation. Use a cleaner, WD40 , could be good to try on the timer before you can estimate the cost of a timer.

My Samsung VRT washer was working fine. The cycle appears to be finished but the door remains locked. I get no response from any of the buttons. You would think that the washer wasn't getting any...

I don't know if I have the same model SAMSUNG front loader, but I have a similar problem. The door has decided to stay locked at the end of the cycle. I can turn it off and on and even send it through another cycle, but at the end of the washing, it drains, goes to END but does not go the extra step of unlocking, like it usually would about 1min after ending the cycle.

My clothese have been through about 6 different cycles, hoping it will magically clikc open at the end. I assume they are very clean, but getting dizzy.

Any help out there?

Whirlpool Model LHW0050PQ4 will not go through cycles. clotes are stuck in the washer and I can't get the door open to get the clothing out until the cycles seemingly need to be completed. Can I override...

The 'interlock' door switch is designed to stop people from opening the door and flooding the room. If you have to wait till the cycle has finished it's because power is still being supplied to the interlock. Turning the machine to 'off' and waiting approx. 3 minutes should allow the interlock time to release the 'lock'. If the door cannot be opened after that amount of time and there is no power going to the interlock, it would appear that the interlock is faulty and needs to be replaced...Not a huge job for a tech.. Good luck....Nomess (Please take a moment to rate this response)

Finished, wash and spin lights flashing. Door

I just had this problem! To get the clothes out, open door manually (follow answers on other threads here about opening toe panel and gently pulling down on door release). But as it turned out, I didn't need to remove the clothes, and now my washer is working again.

A local repairman gave me this advice over the phone. Make sure dial is switched to off. Unplug your machine, then plug it back in. Hold down the rinse and delay buttons with one hand. With the other hand, switch the dial from off to cold or warm or whatever cycle you want. All the buttons flash a few times, then just the start button flashes. The second time I tried this, my washer worked afterwards. I've done several loads today with no problem.

Fisher paykel washer

Sounds like you could need a new out of balance switch or bracket, also try to make the clothes evenly spread in washing machine on rinse if they clump up on one side of the bowl they will cause out of balance :)
