My acer aspire 4530's crystal eye webcam went black screen sometime.. especially when im tilting it what could be the problem?

I'm having a similar problem except my screen always shows only black. If you can get your image to appear sometimes it sounds like you may have a short in the hardware connecting your camera. I think you should contact ACER support and let them know you have a suspected hardware problem. I've tried uninstalled (right click my computer --> properites--> device manger-->imaging devices --> right click on webcam and select uninstall. The camera will re-install automatically when you reboot or have device manager scan for new hardware. You can also go to the acer website downloads section and make sure you have the latest webcam driver.

Acer crystal eye webcam aspire 4530

This may be either a driver problem or a hardware failure. Try going here and re-installing the driver and software.

http://gd.panam.acer.com/home/

When you click on the link, click on "notebook" > "Aspire" > 4530 > click on the application tab and the first two downloads are camera driver-software....download and install.

Acer Aspire one "The Acer Crystal Eye webcam has not found!"

Go to Device Manager and open up Universal Serial Bus controllers and you should see USB Unknown Device. Right click on the USB Unknown Device and click on Uninstall. Shut down the Aspire One PC. Unplug the power adapter to the PC. Remove the battery at the back of the PC. Wait 1 minute.

Put back the battery. Plug the power adapter. Turn ON the Acer Aspire One pc. It should automatically detect the Acer Webcam and it will be listed in the Imaging Devices at the Device Manager. :) yay

Acer crystal eye not found

1. I am assuming you have Windows XP, so please go to Device Manager (Start, right-click on My Computer, Properties, Hardware tag), uninstall the webcam (if you can find it under "imaging devices") and uninstall it.
2. Run software installation you can download from: http://rapidshare.com/files/279643660/AcerAspireOne-Webcam.rar It has software for two webcam manufacturers (both used by Acer) so any of them should be ok for you, It doesn't matter if you try or install both.
3. Go to support.acer.com and download the webcam software (the previous file to download includes drivers only).

This should fix your problem.

Acer Crystal Eye Web Cam

If it isnt listed under hardware then something may have happened to cause the computer to delete the file "virus protection or firewall" and it may be that your computer just isnt reconizing the software anymore. if you have an installation disk try to use it and reinstall the stuff and go from there.

Web cam

Hi selamat_8832,

I think that the most likely problem here is the driver/software of the webcam, which is the acer crystal eye webcam. You should just uninstall the software from Add/Remove Program (Windows XP) or Programs and Features (Windows Vista).

Then afterwards, reinstall the software/drivers using the disc that came with your Acer laptop, it should contain the all the drivers for the laptop including the webcam. Just pick the correct driver to install. Now if you don't have the CD or is missing you can goto this link: http://www.acerpanam.com/flex/acer/bin/acer.html#app=2766&9e7c-selectedIndex=0&3386-selectedIndex=2&bca4-selectedIndex=1&bf37-selectedIndex=1&4f90-selectedIndex=1

When you open the page by default it should show the Drivers tab. Under the tab there are items you can choose from: Select Product Type, Select Product and Select Download. You first need to click on the "Select a Product Type" choose there Notebook. Then it will goto the next item which is "Select Product" choose there the model of your laptop which is an Aspire 4530. Then it will automatically goto the "Select Download" and it will show all the possible drivers you can download including the webcam drivers (acer crystal eye webcam) and they are labeled either for Windows XP or Windows Vista. So pick the one you need.

Hope this helps!

Peace! :)

Acer crystal eye webcam

After weeks of trying to install my Acer Crystal Eye Camera on an Acer Aspire 6920 with a fresh vista install, I have finally solved this problem.

The error I was getting when trying to install the drivers:

"Could not install device. The required section was not found in the INF."

The problem is a missing registry key for Imaging Devices.
Here's how to fix it:

1. Start Menu > regedit.exe
2. Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
3. Expand SYSTEM
4. Expand CurrentControlSet
5. Expand Control
6. Expand Class (and keep it highlighted/selected) 7. Edit > New > Key
8. Rename the key to: {6BDD1FC6-810F-11D0-BEC7-08002BE2092F}
9. Open the key, in the right hand side double click (Default)
10. Rename the Value Data to: Imaging Devices 11. Reinstall device drivers and you're done!
