eMachines T6211 PC Desktop Logo
Posted on Jul 02, 2011

7/1/11 eMachine T6211 won't boot at all; no fan starting, monitor says there is no connection and there is beeping that does not stop. Short beeps spaced evenly. Could it be bad capacitors? When it did work I had problems: rebooting by itself, refusal to stay off, freezes, blue screens. May not make sense to fix it, BUT I have data on there I would like to get off. Can an expert move my C drive contents to an external hard drive?? Thanks. Kathy

Thank you for this information - I will take this to an expert and pay the price of not having attended to the warning signs earlier. And from now on do real backup. Kathy

Most probably is a RAM memory issue, those beeps are issued when a RAM module can not be found, may be the machine sufferend a crash an the ram jumped out of it's slot (less probable) or just broke (Most probably) certainly a tecnician can save your data to another PC or even, fix the broken PC by replacing the broken RAM module with a new one

so that is this thing, 531.
an 11 year old desktop, running what windows xp, vista or 7
so when you turn on any dead desktop, the monitor (unstated)
shows no Signal, or no sync or works near same.
it will do that on every monitor made, newer owns show.
monitor cable disconnected, can not connect.
then PC on 2 fans spin, the PSU fan and the CPU fan.
if no fans spin, the PSU is dead or overloaded.
so fans are first here, do tell this.
ever clean it of all that 11 years of packed up inside lint?
causing fans to fail or simple overheating?

Fans what to the fans do ,seen heard and felt blow air.

Device could not start

what device? is *********** board won't start? Or a hardware doesn't start like ram or your printer
If the problem is your motherboard check all your hardwares and connectors like this:
  1. If the motherboard won't start if you click the power button check the LED(the small light bulb on your motherboard) if its glowing. If not, check the connector of your power supply or check the power supply if its working by looking its fan if revolving.
  2. If you push the button and there's a sign of power but didn't start up that will appear on your screen check the connection of your monitor screen to your desktop computer. If it's connected, remove your RAM from the motherboard and insert it to another memory slot to check if it's broken.
  3. Last, if you push the power button and here 1 short beep but the boot screen didn't appeared from your screen check your graphic card. Remove the graphic card and re-insert it again to its graphic card slot and plug in your monitor connector to it. If it still remain that way, buy a new graphic card.

Acer aspire sa80-9b7z won't start up. Fan starts

Firstly check the monitor, if you get 8 beeps as it is starting up, this points to graphics problems. Trying another monitor. If the problem remains, swap the graphics card or use the onboard graphics card.
If this fails and, more importantly, you are not getting any beeps (single beep would indicate your CPU is ok), the problem is likely to lie with the motherboard.
To help you further, please repost with the number of beeps if any, you get as it tries to boot up

I still did not find beep code that match your problem..

Anyways here are the common beep codes for your motherboard.. it might help you too.
1. No beep - no reaction, the mother board is dead, power supply problem, processor and or ram problem.
2. 1beep - board is working fine.
3. One long beep then it shuts down - cpu problem, your processor is not working or missing.
4. 1short beep - system boots normally
5. 2short beeps - CMOS setting error.
6. 1long 1short beep - dram error
7. 1long 2 short beep - video card or monitor not connected
8. 1long 3 short beep - keyboard error.
9. 1long 9short beep - ROM error
10. Long beep - memory card is missing or not connected
11. Short beep - power supply error
12 Four beeps - there is no fan detected on Fan1 or Fan2 header. make sure to attach or reset CMOS bios to factory setting.

Hope this gave you an idea of your problem..

Emachine wont start

remove all external and internal peripherls.

example for external: mouse, monitor, keyboard, printer.

Internal: hard drive, memory modules, video cards, modem (if there's any), optical drive or dvd drives.

just leave the motherboard, power supply and processor intact, try turning on the computer with out those components mentioned. see if you get a beep sound before it turns off, but if not the most logical part that needs to be replaced on this type of problem is the power supply if that doesn't work the next thing to do is replace the motherboard. hope that helps

hit me back on the results. thanks!

EMachine stopped displaying video (card not working, just mobo)

Hi there

I would say it's the graphics card that's failed. You might get the same beeps for faulty card as removed card....

Take it to a shop where they can test a compatible card, before they sell you one or install one for you.
