Set the temp level at whatever point your home's temperature is now. Lower the humidity level to 35%. If you don't have an LED screen on your unit, set the manual control to maximum. This way, you will extract the maximum amount of humidity and make your home more comfortable.

Hope this helped you. Please let me know. Thanks.

, My KM30 Dehumidifier t'stat will not reognise ambient humidity properly. I placed the unit in my boat-steamy 80% humidity at 50%. it consistently turned itself off. Ok on 35 and Lo.

there is a sensor in the unit much like a temp sensor, (bullet shape) over time these do ware out and need to be replaced this tell the unit the temp so the unit knows humidity. it could also just need cleaning as a build up of damp then dry dust can cover the sensor.

Why has it stopped running, but still shows temp and humidity?

I may have reached the humidity level that you have set it at. Press the HUMIDITY button until it says "Lo". That should put you into continuous run mode.
Good Luck.

Doesnt seem to be working and the code CH appears on the display. Fan turns on but not collecting water and its very humid/damp in the basement so its not the humidity setting.

There are 5 basic, yet solvable reason for what you described. Please pay particular attention to numbers 1 & 2..

1. The humidity extraction level is set to HIGH. Lower it to 32-35%.
.
2. Air intake filter is dirty or clogged. Turn unit OFF, & Unplug the
Unit, before removing to inspect & clean it, if necessary. If washed,
allow filter to completely dry before reinstalling. DO NOT operate
the unit without the filter.

3. Obstructed air flow. Maintain a minimum of 12 to 18" of clear air
space around the entire unit.

4. Cooling coils are dirty and need to be cleaned. Use warm water & dish washing liquid to
clean the coils. Rinse and wipe dry. Apply a light coating of WD40 to the coils.

5. Ambient air temperature at floor level is between 40 - 65 degrees.
dehumidifiers do not work well between those temperatures
(Unless, you have a Low Temp Unit*). This applies mainly to
where the air temperature at floor level is colder than at shoulder level
in basement applications. Raising the unit up off the floor,
onto a sturdy table, counter top, etc, that can handle the weight
of the unit, plus a full tank of water, will usually resolve this
problem.

* Your unit is not a low temp model.

If none of the above solves the problem, it may be a case of the compressor needs to be recharged with refrigerant gas or that the humidity condenser sensor has failed. These things usually occur in units that are 5 years old or older. It's rare in a unit younger than that. But, it can happen.

Hope this helped you to troubleshoot and solve the problem, as your model has been discontinued by LG. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

BHD-651D purchased 9-9-08 Ice builds up on coils. Filter and coils/fins clean. Air temp 72 F

What is your humidistat set at? Could you be trying to get to too low a humidity? Try to determine what the humidity is and set the stat just below that. In that way, once it reaches the setpoint, it will cycle off, allowing the coils to warm up.
If that works, lower the setting a bit more & see results.
Write back.

What is the proper setting for Danby R410A?

R410A is refrigerant gas. I think you wanted to know, what humidity extraction level the controls should be set on. If it is really hot and humid in your area, set the humidity extraction level between 35 & 40%. If you have a mechanical control, turn the knob to Maximum.

Hope this helped you, Bradleyjo. Thanks for choosing FixYa.

I was just given a DD50PC as a gift from a friend who did not have the accompanying instruction booklet. He told me to turn the unit on and let it work. I do not know what temp to set it at. It has to...

On a dehumidifer, you set the relative humidity, not temperature. Normally the humidity should be set within 40 to 60 percent humidity.

New unit, try using in basement. nothing happen, should humidity settings be high or low? Dose humidity level be high? In the bucket whats the plastic cup about? do something alow water to enter bucket?

If you trying to remove humidity, the setting or percentage of humidity to you want to remove should be set low. it's actually the humidity that will be left in the air. In the Hot Summer months, you want lower humidity, as opposed to the Winter months, when you want higher humidity.

"Plastic cup inside the bucket" - that's got me stumped. But, I suspect, it may be a float valve to turn the unit off, once the bucket reaches the full level. The water enters the bucket through a drain tube or hole from inside the dehumidifier, above the bucket.

By best advice, since this is a new unit, that you recently purchased, is read the Owners Manual/User Guide and become thoroughly familiar with the proper operation of your Dehumidifier, as well as how to properly maintain it. As, they aren't maintenance free.

My dehumidifier is not working properly. I do not know how it works, I do not have the manual. I have a temperaturesetting and a humidity level area. Do I need to set it on the humidity level to pull water...

Yes set unit humidity dial about half way or until it comes on. You need something to measure humidity. most of dials dont have a humidity reading. Set at about 50% Rus
