Charging problem The light on my charger for the battery on this camera only flashes when I try to charge a battery and doesn't seem to charge it. I've only had it for little more than a year. Do I need a new charger?

I've experienced just the same problem today: i put my battery on the charger, plugged it and waited for several hours, but it won't stop flashing and the battery doesn't work.

Light flashing means you need a new battery. If you call tech support they may be able to replace that battery for you.

Misty Hoffman, do us a favor, stop telling EVERYONE to go to support or send their camera away to be fixed. you don't know what you are talking about.

Well Daren I would hope that I would know what I was I talking about when I posted that comment, I was after all the head of the technical support division for three years. LOL

Im trying to charge my camera via computer. . there is a red light on the charge cable connector and a green light on the camera which i have switched "on". it still says "low battery even...

Hi, I'd suggest using a wall charger as they're able to provide more power to charge then a computers USB port. Often with camera's the USB port doesn't supply enough power so the camera doesn't charge at all.

My camcorder doesnt charge up properly, ive purchased a new batteery and charges a bit but doesnt charge to full, light keeps flashing to say somethings wrong. I put it on the pc and it seems to charge.

Is the charging of the battery part of the camera or is it a separate charger? Meaning you remove the battery from the camera and install it into the charger to charge. Of course, if the charge is not full when both batteries have been on the charger, then the charger is at fault. Also, considering that you have also put a new battery on the same charger and the problem is still the same, then the charger is (again) at fault. You can try and send the charger to the retailer for inspection or, better still, take the whole camera and get it checked. Bad batteries or charger can cause more trouble to both the batteries or the camera.

Battery Charger Olympus li-40c

I had this problem a few weeks ago (i.e. flashing red LED). All I did was remove the power plug from the charging unit, turned it around 180 degrees, then plugged it back into the charging unit. Red LED came on steady & the battery (which is the one that came with the camera) recharged as normal.

When I try to charge the battery the light just flashes and the charger does not work.

Hi, I had the same problem!

Had not used my camera for a while so I decided to but my battery on charge, once in the charger the orange light just kept flashing so I left this in "flashing" for a good hour or so.

I removed it and then replaced it, and it was still flashing so I decided to get a new battery (£40!).

I put the new battery on charge over night and it charged great, so I thought I would re-try charging my old one before I sent it away for recycle, and guess what the orange light stopped ON and it was charging!

Not sure what happened here, it was either charge the old for an hour with light flashing and then remove and leave over night and re-try OR insert a good battery to re-set the charger?

But I now have 2 good batteries.

Hope this helps :)

Battery Charging light doesn't flash and battery doesn't charge

I have the same problem. Worked for 3 years and now the battery charges to green but goes dead immediately. I've changed batteries. Its the camera not the batteries. Works fine plugged in. Obviously the cameras are not charging the batteries. Canon must know but I cannot find a fix and warranty is over. I guess buying the expensive camera of the day isnt always assuring you of quality.

Could be battery or charger. 1. Buy new battery. Still in trouble? 2. Get new charger Its good to have two batteries
