The dishwasher is getting water, but it is not cleaning the dishes and it will not even dissolve the dishwashing tab. The machine is less than a year old. We have had the electric go off, is there a reset button or something?
Hi First make sure that nothing is blocking the drain pump
assembly located inside the lower front panel of the dishwasher. If the issue
returns after its cleaned then it means that the control board has gone bad and
should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance. Daniel

I'm not sure what combination of these steps fixed the problem but its fixed none the less.
As mentioned above i removed the screws at the top of the door removed the top cover. I disconnected the power connector (white) and reconnected. I removed the latch assembly cycled the latch a few times pushed the connectors on the bottom snuggly on. Reassembled the top and the replaced the screws.
After closing the door...all the lights were blinking?? No No its ok..
Place the dial on rinse only and press dry and start/cancel. This will place the dishwasher in a maintenance mode. It will cycle through all the cycles in a short amount of time.
After all of that it started up just fine. Like i said I'm not sure what part of this process made this all work I'm just putting it all out there and i hope it helps someone else with the same problem...

You need the control panel to reset before anything else can happen. To do this TURN OFF THE PLUG SOCKET FIRST AND UNPLUG. Then you need to drain ALL the water from the machine. Turn off the water supply feed and place the wastage pipe as low to the floor as poss ( 1-2" off floor). Water will gush out so use a large shallow tray and keep emptying the tray. Tilt the dishwasher over slightly to make sure all the water is out.
This will allow the control panel to reset itself which wouldn't normally happen if the base of the dishwasher was holding even a small amount of water.
Re connect the water, plug back in , select the RESET setting on the dial and close the door and switch on.
Leave for about 20 seconds and then turn off.
Rotate the selector switch to "A" Intensive wash and switch
I found this on another site and it really did work for me
SOURCE: I can't get the control panel to reset. The
II might need the actual model number. However, you can go to page 9 on this manual and check if the flashing options can fix the problem. I am assuming you have already tried to turn the power off and back on.
The ohter thing to try is the reset sequence. Within 6-7 secs press High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry/ High Temp/ Heat Dry. All lights should light up, press Start button to exit.

Hi there - possible the inlet valve is blocked or faulty - have a look at the valve if its blocked first if not then the inlet valve is faulty... the problem is the G638 has 2 inlets - one is the the waterproof syatem with a large grey contration fitted to the tap, the other is located beneath the machine , a bit hard to get at...
will require a disconnection of services empty water from machine - tilt on the back - 4 screws on the bottom tray - here you will find the valve - should be located on the frontish right side..
Do be careful if you pursue the latter as its a delicate with little space to work with and costly if you break something else in the process...
Have a think about this first...Yes? then do remeber to disconnect the power.....
happy weekend
