I have a losi 1/18 late model slider. Lately the steering has been an issue. Alot of twitching, and turns to the right all by itself while racing. I put a new servo in, and it still didn't work normal. Another car I also run is doing the same thing. It may work for awhile and then while racing it also jerks to the right for no reason. Could it be the little box the servo plugs into on the car?

  • cjstotes Jun 01, 2011

It also twitches and drives eratic when I am alone and showing the guys what it is doing. we changed batteries in the hand controler but the problem still existed. I thought possible interference also but not sure. let me know what you think. thanks.

  • cjstotes Jun 01, 2011

The solution was acceptable for me. I will see how they run after I switch transmitters.

  • cjstotes Jun 01, 2011

I did some further descriptions for you. The transmitter is a Losi MTX pro radio system with spektrum. 2.4 GHz DSM technology. The receiver is a stock MRX-3000 DSM. The servo is a stock analog 3 wire unit. The car is powered by a Ni-MH 6 cell battery pack at 7.2 volts. Now that I think about it in the group of guys I race with 3 of the cars are having similar problems with the steering. An additional car when powered up will let you steer it but doesn't get the fire up the electric drive motor. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated,

Hi cjstotes,

I see that you mentioned you 1/18 scale mini late model RTR twitches to the right while racing and that you replaced the servo but the problem still exsist.

I believe the problem will not be with the servo but most probably with your transmitter or the reciever.

If I may ask does this happen only when you are in a race? or does this happen as well even if you are not in a race and there is no one else but you?

If this happens only when you are in a race and and does not happen if your alone then something is wrong with your Transmitter and reciever, Possible it is recieving some interuption from other transmitters.

I hope that this help.

Have a nice day,

mvincentc

Hi, thanks for the added info so you use a differen car as well do you use the same transmitter for the other car?

You mentioned that the other car as well twitches when in a race then goes away for a while then twitches again.

have you tried a different Transmitter / Remot control, the reciever on the cars I can also be a cause on the issue but trying a different transmitter first will give you the answer which also will be cheaper instead buying a reciever for both cars to see if there will be changes on the twitching.

I had one before but was not able to play with it for that long, from my little experince the remote control should have a crystal in it which is actually the signal is coming fomr and is like the IP address of the remote control I just am not sure if that will be the same as what RTR's have now a days, and the remote i had before was the Old type which is the stick type remote instead of the Gun type remote control.

But then again check your transmitter try a different transmitter see the differenc if teh twitching will go away if not then try replacing the recievers on the cars you have.

Yes it sounds like an issue with that part. That is what receives signals from the radio control. I would try a different one of those. if you know anyone that also races that scale you can just switch them out to test it then you would know if that is the issue.
Thank you,
Lee

Well are you running am/fm/or digital 2.4 if your trims are set correctly and your servo is good. check your servo saver make sure its not stripped out if that is good then your losing either battery volts bad pack and or your receiver / transmitter is faulty.

please leave thumbs up if it helps thanks

  • Anonymous Jun 01, 2011

umm the little box your servo plugs into is the reciver and yes it could be a faulty reviver or transmitter or you may need a stronger battery aka higher volts depending on servo power draw but regardless the servo tx/rx and servo saver and battery are all that control steering aside from trim settings please state what type of system your running and all before leaving a review i been in the hobby for 7 years have planes helis mt and cars electric and nitro i know my stuff please give a more descriptive issue when you reply

I recently bought a 1/10 scale dhk buggy but it wont turn right it makes a clattering noise if you try to my model is the wolf

Try taking steering servo out and see if it will turn left and right. Try putting some resistance on it to make sure it will turn while a load is on it. If it works you will have to investigate your steering linkage

I have a 1989 Nissan Bluebird SSS SR18 (Di) model KEU12NA1 Type E-EU12. I recently topped up the reservoir with an over the counter steering fluid which is transparent in color and not eh same color as...

all power steering fluid is the same actually us can use transmission fluid if u want
now being as you had to add fluid i would assume u have a leak some where in the system
you may be low on fluid also there probably air in system (when u have a leak it also allows air into system especially when you run low on fluid)
also if anyone ever put stop leak in system stop leak is a lot thicker oil and will take longer to heat up and thin out in cold weather to allow easy turning
first check for leaks repair if needed
if no leaks are found drain system add fresh power steering fluid
if that doesn't fix problem you have a bad power steering pump replace pump

I have had this noritz for about 5 months. It has had some trouble coming on lately and the water is not as hot as it should be. I ran the water right out the bottom of the machine and it does not come...

it sounds like you have issues with scale building up in your heater. I would recommend performing a descale to remove scale deposits. Sometimes the scale blocks water flow through the heat excahanger; you may need to have a servicer dig the scale out of your main servo and mixing cylinder before performing a descale.

Very dull steering feel, wheel stays turned even as i slowly rev

Camber and caster settings are off. Have 4 wheel alignment done by a good shop and save your nice tires. Out of alignment will make steering feel heavy and wear tires fast!

Steering problem GSXR600 SRAD

A couple of things... are the tyres matched? You said you have changed the rear and the front is worn - this will definitely have an effect on handling, as will tyre pressures. The correct sizes for your tyres are: Front 120/70 ZR-17, Rear 180/55 ZR-17
You should ALWAYS use matched tyres - even differences between models in the same brand will be different and you shouldn't mix and match unless you are an expert - and I mean a real expert - pro racer or similar.
Tyre pressures for your bike are : 36psi front and rear. Unless your tyre manufacturer says different, use that figure. Unless all those things are right, you can't begin to diagnose handling issues.
Good luck!
