Amazon.com, Inc.JVC HD-52Z575 52" HD-ILA HDTV-ready rear-projection TV ... The picture was artifacted and the color was good, but not great. ... From 5' some minor issues could be seen and the MPEG2 format did show its limitations, but at 10', it was a truly great experience! ... There is no true gray temperature, only high and low.

you need to get the original bulb from the company's authorised service dealer. these bulbs are of very specific type. & will work with same type only.
If you haven't replaced the lamp you should. If you have replaced the lamp you may just need to reset the unit. Go to my tip at http://www.fixya.com/support/r4168009-change_lamp_in_dlp_projection_tv which explains where to get the lamp at the best price and how to replace it as well as links to additional problems.
Thanks for using Fix Ya and for the great rating.]
I have the same issue, we've had to change our bulb three times in less than two years. now we have 61" expensive paper weight. Our current bulb is less than 6 months old. The TV is only 2 years old and like i said this is our third bulb.
the blue light blinks 4 times. you get sound. then a few minutes the the picture returns... then it goes out, and the cycle goes on.
The life estimate for a bulb is about 5000 hours, and if the bulb is dieing before that is very obvious you have another issue on the TV
That Could be a temperature problem, like a cooling system is failing (usually the is two fan around that) or a lot of dust in the cooling system. another one could be temp sensor also maybe failing and is not sensing high temperatures and is no turning off the TV
Also make sure you have enough ventilation in the back of the TV
Hope this give you a better idea of the problem thanks
its the bulb i have the same problem with that model the service tech said life spann on bulb is 2years he replaced it fixed you have to readjust all the pic settings because new bulb make pic too bright
Replacing any or all of the crt's in a proj TV is a difficult challenge for any qualified technician. It's not something normally done in the home either - because of the adjustments and tear-down required.
I'm assuming you have a crt that does not have the cooling chamber already on it. And therefore you'll need to attach the cooling chamber and fill it with EC (a clear fluid similar to anti-freeze) that keeps the crt from overheating. Then there comes the job of alignment. I would assume you don't have a pattern generator or some of the other equipment you'll need.
I applaud your abilities thus far but here's where I'd STRONGLY recommend you get a reputable shop to do the install. If you would like some help finding one call NESDA (National Electronic Service Dealer's Assn.) and ask about member shops in your area...
