4 green and 4 red are blinking, I've called the 800nmbr and they want to bring it in for service, trying to avoid this as very costly.

They did mention the tamp is getting stuck or it could be the brewing unit. Do you know of any other fixes? Any idea if I could take it apart myself?
    Thanks

  • marieaedgar May 04, 2011

I've done the turn off power, unplug 30 seconds and sometimes resets it. But mostly just requires time to reset. thank you

  • marieaedgar May 04, 2011

7 min for reset good to know. Yeah 30 seconds does nothing that's for sure.

Is there a way to get the tamp to not stick without taking it apart? When I do cleaning cycles it even sticks then.

I've experimented with different grind levels, nothing seems to make it happy though.

  • marieaedgar May 04, 2011

I got another email but no further suggestions?

  • marieaedgar May 06, 2011

how do I remove the tamper?

Which lights are blinking this tells you what is wrong with the unit it says in your manual towards the end if you had 4 green blinking and 4 red blinking to turn off the unit for 15 seconds and replug the unit in and it also states that if all 8 are blinking to call this number this is your manual to your machine as well http://www.capresso.com/pdf/c1000.pdf click there if you have any further questions message me back and please remember when our chat has fully concluded to rank how this opinion has helped in your espresso machine issue Thanks Rick 1-800-220-5701 is the number listed to call for 8 blinking lights that are blinking continuously on page 20 of the link i posted

7 minutes is actually the reset the control time in my opinion that 15 seconds thing would still hold the error code please if you have no further questions please remember to rank how this opinion has helped in your espresso machine situation it allows me to continue to help others in similar situations in the future Thanks again Rick

what is your grind currently set at also? usually i see alot of people put the grind ratio up to 8 and this is the fatal flaw of the espresso machine at no time should the grind ratio be set that hi manufacturers suggested is for 5 but i have found moving it never above 7 causes for just as strong a brew yet alot less problems this is as far as the tamp is conserned also if your grind is to fine the tamp will also have issues due to this I await your reply Thanks Rick

  • Anonymous May 04, 2011

you also probably could take the unit apart yourself but the problem with that is where do you get the parts these espresso machine companies do not sell parts to anyone except there distributors they try to keep all there repairs done in house. This way there company makes the profit on doing the repair as well as the part. Yes I agree this is a crappy way of how they do things I await your reply

this unit is not rated as a very good product the tamper seems to have issues dealing with built up oils that settle around the tamper area causing the tamper not to fucntion properly I suppose if you were able to remove the tamper and clean the tamper area from the residue of the oils this might alleviate the issue for awhile but this would be an ongoing cleaning of this area due to the build up of oils around that tamper I await your reply Thanks Rick

  • Anonymous May 04, 2011

scroll down the page to see the suggestion about the oil build up on the tamper and if you look at that link that i posted there is also sections in this manual dealing with oily beans at 7.2 and chapter 13a should be read as well about cleaning the metal screen page 14 also discusses when dark oily beans are used and how it makes the internal metal screen clog up not allowing water through the unit with steps how to get your machine going again as well in the same section I await your reply Thanks Rick

CClean The MX882 ADF (Automatic Document Feeder)

Be sure to turn off the power and unplug the power cord before cleaning the machine.

  • The power cannot be turned off while the machine is sending or receiving a fax, or when the received fax or unsent fax are stored in the machine's memory. Make sure if the machine completed sending or receiving all the faxes before disconnecting the power cord.

  • The machine cannot send or receive faxes when the power is turned off.

  • If you unplug the power cord, all the faxes stored in the machine's memory will be deleted.

Print the necessary faxes or save them to the memory card/USB flash drive before unplugging the power cord.

  1. Open the Document Tray.

5kg top washer not working, making a continuous beep sound

1) Test the voltage of machine vs the outlet wall from the house,
2) See if the frequency is 60hz or 50hz?
3) Tight the connectors very well inside, and tight any loose wires
4) Reset the machine. Turn off the c.breaker by 15 minutes, and tripped again, and Turn on again. If the problem persist you must call some service tech, the board can be faulty.
God bless you

Brand new machine and the pressure gauge doesn't appear to be working, I've made about 10 coffees over the weekend and experimented with the tamping etc. And the gauge has not moved once? Am I...

It could be a faulty machine, what is your grind setting? Make sure your using the dual wall single cup as a test. Set the grind to around 13 and grind your own beans, don't use supermarket bought beans or preground coffee. Both are garbage.
Also if your using the dual wall basket, make sure that you leave the dial guage in the dual wall setting. Then tamp the coffee so it sits roughly 3-5mm below the rim, this is what I have found is best for this unit.
Then secure group head in to unit, press single cup and you should hopefully get a pressure reading, if it isn't going up you are under extracting and your grind is prob to coarse (correct me if I'm wrong), I've found 13 is not to coarse not to fine. Shouldn't feel like fine sand, when coarse but not powdery.
If the gauge does not move in to the grey area your unit is most likely faulty.

The washer has a musty/sour smell to it...any way to clean it?

There are several things you can do. First you might try filling with hot water and dissolving 1 cup of baking soda. Let it sit for about an hour. Then complete the cycle and when done, leave the top open so tub will dry completely.
Second, you might try the same thing but use 1 cup of chlorine bleach. Let it sit for about 30 minutes and then complete the cycle. Again, leave the top open so the tub will air dry.
Finally, you can fill with hot water and use 1 cup of white vinegar. Let it sit for an hour and then follow the same procedures above.
Once you've run the cycle, you can wipe down the interior edges and under surfaces with a rag that has been moistened with the solution of vinegar or chlorine.
The baking soda neutralizes odors. The chlorine bleach will kill mold and mildew spores. The vinegar is acidic and it too will prevent the mold and mildew from growing.
Once you've freshened the washer, remember to leave the top up after you've completed all the laundry so that there is air and light entering the tub. Mold and mildew do not live well in bright, airy environments. I hope this helps. If so, please come back and comment on my suggestions!

My machine blinking on steam, the wand does not want t o steam, the espresso does not pour. The knob is turned on stand by , but still some steaming noise comes, but no steam comes from the wand, nor...

When it is blinking on steam it means it is preparing the unit for steam. When the steam light goes solid your unit is ready to make steam.

  • Turn from standby to steam then wait for steam light to go solid.
  • When solid steam wand will begin dribbling then spitting out water, which will then turn to steam.
  • When it begins to steam, turn back to standby. NOTE: you only have 6 seconds before steaming turns off.
  • place steaming wand in jug and turn from standby back to steam.
You will hear pumping noises when you turn off your steam, because it releases the steam and puts the excess water in to the drip tray.
  • make sure your bean hopper is properly locked in to the unit. Grinder won't work if hopper not locked in.
  • Make sure your water filter has been prepped and locked securely in to the reservoir and your reservoir is filled.
  • Use fresh beans.
  • Sounds funny but use good quality water, do not use ordinary tap water. Make sure it is filtered or use bottled water (cooler bottles).
  • Try to grind your beans to a good consistancy.
  • Breville recomends about 10kg tamping pressure, use a set of scales to check the feel.
  • Tamp to about 3-5 mm below rim of grouphead (portafilter). Or the tamp has a guide on the side, that silver side on the tamp is the tamp line. Pretty vauge about that in the book.
If all else fails go to www.breville.com.au and check your model and watch some of the vid clips.

My servis 1200 rpm washing machine wont turn on- a light keeps flashing? possilbe problems?

I've cleaned the compartment at the bottom from hair, hairpins, coins etc... But the problem is, washer sometimes starts without any problems, and does the job properly from start to finish or just don't want to work for a few days! Hundred of times switched on and off - the same scenario. Power led switches of, there is a noise of some switch moving inside of the washer, then another led starts to blink (the one under the start button) and there is no way to run the program. Bloody machine :(

I lost power and now I get blinking lights on my le Cube 185

I had a similar problem where both Small and Large cup buttons on mine blinked intermittently. I did a reset of the large and small cup flow levels based on the following and it seems to work fine now:
1. Switch off power 2. Press and hold Large cup button 3. Switch on power while still holding down large cup button
See if that solves your problem.
