Two door fridge. The Lower portion is the deep freezer and it is working fine. The top portion is { the regular/general part of the fridge }not working but the lights are on. we have checked the knob & its setting is also ok. Please ensure that the fridge door is completely closed when you attempt to shut it. Please check from any leaks from the freezer portion of the fridge to the non-freezer portion. Try to temporarily lower the freezer temperature by 20 degrees and check what affects it has on the non-freezer portion.

I have never owned a fridge freezer so have no experience to draw on apart from a sketchy knowledge of the principles involved.

I just wanted to mention that food remaining frozen at -2 C or even -6 C doesn't mean the food will remain safe to eat indefinitely, in fact the safe life of food at those temperatures will be about the same as in the freezer compartment of the old fashioned fridge - a matter of a few weeks to a couple of months.

The safe and almost indefinite storage of freezer food requires temperature of -25/-27 C

I suggest you obtain service for your fridge freezer...

The door switch, some fridges run the fan on door closed only.

Contact a professional. Sounds like either your damper door is not operating correctly and not letting enough cool air from the freezer enter, or there is an air leak that is making ice form .

have you checked to make sure there isn't a breach in the door seal anywhere. Even a slight breach could elevate temp.

IN MOST CASES THERE IS A FAN THAT SENDS COLD AIR FROM THE FREEZER TO KEEP THE FRIDGE COLD. EITHER YOUR FAN MOTOR HAS GONE BAD OR YOUR THERMOSTAT IN YOUR FRIDGE IS BAD.

check for your freezer fan running properly
then check to make sure you have air flow into the freezer this model has a habit of freezing ice in the air channels

I've had this happen to my Kenmore 73503 several times. The 1st time took me a few hours to figure out what the problem was.

Basically the fridge is cooled from the freezer, so when you say your freezer is -2 degrees, it's a big tip off to the problem.

If you look very close in the freezer compartment at the back, you'll notice an opening with a little door at the top of the freezer compartment. This opening extends up the inside of the back of the fridge to the top of the fridge area via a square plastic tube.

Basically what happens in my fridge is the family loads the freezer to high especially at the top/back. This restricts or closes off the opening for the cold air to the fridge portion of the appliance ....resulting in a warm fridge, but cold freezer. Just remove the articles at the back of the freezer to correct problem. (It will take a few hours for the cold air to cool the fridge down)

Note: the temperature control unit in the fridge area controls the little door at the top of the freezer compartment, so if you haven't blocked off the opening, the next place to look would be either at the mechanical parts of the little door or the temperature control unit itself in the fridge
