I just picked up a Haier HBF05E kegerator 2nd hand. I transported the unit on it's side with the coolant tube facing away from the compressor. Folks at Haier said this would be OK. I let the unit sit for 36 hrs before plugging in. I have had it plugged in overnight and it has not gotten cold. The manual indicates it may take 24 hrs to cool properly. Should I wait longer. I hear the compressor click on and off in quick succession - is that normal?

SOURCE: When plugged in, the compressor never kicks on. It just clicks.

If the compressor is getting hot then the compressor is gone. But the price on a relay is fairly cheap so you can at least try it and if it doesnt work then return it and dump the unit. But like I said before when a compressor gets hot it means that the piston is bad and the rings are burnt and the oil is bad in the compressor.

SOURCE: Haier hsp03wna not working

The click you heard is the thermal overload. This snaps open when the compressor is too hot.
Unplug the unit for 24 hours and don't move it.
Then plug it in and see if it comes back on temp.

SOURCE: unit shut down for 24 to 36 hrs whith power to

By shut down I'm assuming you mean the compressor does not come on. Does your unit use dials or electronic controls ? Try raising the dial to max and see if compressor kicks in - otherwise unplug the fridge for a few minutes and plug it back in to see if it resets - you either have a shot compressor or a faulty control board (faulty control board being more common) followed by stuck defrost timer.

SOURCE: I have a Haier compact refrigerator (Model:

Unplug the unit then turn the thermostat all the way on then all the way off, then slowly move from off to fully on position do you notice a spring popping sound at a certain point? Yes No? if yes turn it all the way off and wait ten minutes then plug back on, notice if the compressor comes on or not. If it does then turn the thermostat to half way on does it cool now? if yes you have the problem solved, if not you have an issue with the defrost circuit and you need tools to test it, if you have an ohm meter let me know and I will help you further. Kegerator. Is the compressor shot?

It's possible that the compressor in your kegerator is shot and will need to be replaced. However, there are a few other things you can check before determining that the compressor is the issue.
  1. Check the power supply: Make sure the kegerator is properly plugged in and that the outlet has power.
  2. Check the thermostat: Ensure that the thermostat is set to the appropriate temperature. If it is set too high, the compressor will not turn on.
  3. Check the compressor overload protector: The overload protector may have tripped, check to see if it is tripped and reset it if necessary.
  4. Check the compressor's capacitors: They could be damaged and need replacing.
  5. Check the evaporator fan motor: If the evaporator fan motor is not functioning properly, it could cause the compressor not to turn on.
  6. Check the 3 in 1 starter: Make sure the 3 in 1 starter is working properly, it could be defective.
  7. Check the wiring: Make sure all the wiring is properly connected and not loose.
If you have tried all above steps and the problem persists, it may be best to contact a professional or the manufacturer for further assistance. It could be the compressor, but it's better to confirm that before replacing it, as it's a costly repair.

I have a Haier kegerator, just had someone put in freon beer is cold, but the line coming off the compressor that goes up into the cooler part is freezing up

this indicates that liquid is evaporating in the suction line to the compressor
that indicates that the unit has excessive gas and is not working as well as it should
have the gas checked by a professional refrigeration technician

Kegerator no longer running cold

You need a new start device if your compressor is not running/pumping.That is the box on the side of the compressor .If you can put your hand on the compressor to make sure it (compressor) is than you have a Freon leak. The small line copper coming off the compressor should be between 75 & approximately 85 if its not ho you have Freon leak somewhere.

Kegerator is pouring all foam

Try rinsing all that foam out, dry it out with hair dryer and begin again AFTER reading the WHOLE operators manual. No one ever reads the instructions. If all else fails you may have to exchange or replace the unit.

The fridge is not cooling, where do you install the coolant?

you do not refill the unit yourself you need a Federal EPA license. 2nd it takes special equipment to fill this type of unit. you may have a defective compressor.

My kegerator is not cooling and when i start the unit the pressures dont change is the compressor out or is there a chance the cap tube or dryer is plugged

Good day,
If the pressures don't change, and you can feel the compressor running, then the valves failed in the compressor.
But make sure the compressor is getting power, and the start components mounted on the side of the compressor are working. (overload protecter, Start relay and capacitor if it uses one) An appliance parts house usually can check these components.

P.S. make sure the gauges are connected properly and not cross bleeding.

Compressor kicks on, but unit does not cool

refrigerators dont come with shrader valves. U must buy a clamp on or weld one on the low side. The clampons are not expensive and are called Bullet piercing valve BPV 31 and fit 3 sizes. Unfortunately u also have a leak somewhere. Most refrigerators use either R12 or 134a

Freezer quit working

I suspect when you lifted or moved the freezer, you tilted the compressor such that the oil washed out into the refrigeration lines. Common when people tilt refrigeration equipment the wrong way.
