We've added 2 extensions in the office, but we can't pick up external calls on them - how do we add them to the group call facility on the T7633

The extensions need to be added to the ICD group and given either an Immediate or some ring delay. It's fairly easy to tell because if they're not in the group the line is red and doesn't blink on incoming calls. By default ICD group 1 is access code 600 or 601(try dialing it on the intercom from any phone and see if your phones don't start ringing). Unfortunately, you need higher level access to modify ICD groups. It's either done from the programming tool, or a phone with a class of service allowed to make such changes.

    While you're waiting for the installer, you can program a button to dial *400x. The x is a group number and I'd start with 1 to see if it works. When a call comes in, from the intercom dial *4001 and if it answers the call, you can press PROGRAM on an idle phone, pick a button and dial 2*4001 STORE. Now, when you press that button it will pick up an incoming call.

    Thanks for that. I think we're going to wait for our IT bod to check it out; we don't have the services of our installer due to not paying them, and I'd rather he screwed our system up than me.

    It would be wise to resolve your installer problem. The TDA can become a huge paperweight as it requires dealer activation to upgrade the system and certain programs are dealer only access.

I can only pick up when it rings from the main phone. panasonic kx-t7633

These systems have manuals for a reason. The unprogrammed system has no ICD group assignments. When you put the phones and the ring preferences into the groups, the phones will both blink and/or ring on incoming calls. By default ICD group 1 is 600.

I have 1 extension that will not go to voice mail. I have tried the *713 and a 2 digit number between 00 and 99 and it still just rings endlessly. When I make an inner office call to this ext... it picks...

What happens when you TRANSFER an outside call to that extension? If that works, you have Intercept issues which is handled with programming. If it still does not transfer, you have CF issues, started by a *710x command for both internal and outside calls.

Ring to other phones other than the switch board

When the system was installed, if you or your installer programmed it properly you set up ICD groups. Each extension that you want to ring goes into the members of the group and you can specify how the phones ring. It will also blink the buttons on incoming calls and you can pick up the call from anywhere by just pressing the button.

The programming manual is pretty specific on how to set ICD groups up. Your 5 fing delay is fairly long, so other factors need to be considered regarding intercept and No Answer call forwarding.

It's beyond the scope of a free forum to give specific programming help.

Hello, our office has a KX-T7633 installed. Is there a way to do something like a group pick-up on this phone? My KX-T7633 is placed at my reception, and when reception is out, is it possible to get a few...

Wow. 2 questions. Group call pickup: try *4001 on the intercom.
If that works, you can program it under a button by pressing PROG the button 2*4001 STORE. If it doesn't work, keep dialing the 2 digit codes 02 03 04 etc. I'd stop at 09.

Second: Call your installer for a new ring group. You can do a Night, Break, or Lunch pattern to ring more phones.

How do you use PICK UP OPTION

Firstly, you have to know the extensions that you want in this Pick-up Group.
Eg: 227,234,+239 all want to be in the same pick up group.

To get into programming press:
-> FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4
Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

-> you will now see TERMINALS&SETS and press Enter (the top right arrow key) now put in the extn that you want to change (Eg. 227).
-> you should now see the extension number 227: NAME, press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> you will now see Line access press NEXT
-> you will now see CAPABILITIES and Enter
-> now keep hitting NEXT till you see PICKUP GROUP:__ and CHANGE this to say 7
-> hit NEXT to save this change, then the HEADING button twice till you see the beginning of this menu eg 227: NAME

-> press Find and type in Ex.234 and follow same steps above to put this person in pickup group 7
-> and once again for Ex.239

After all the sets are now in the same pickup group 7, if anyone's set is ringing, dialing FEATURE 7 5 will answer the calls ringing in the group.
Once pressing the F75, whatever call was ringing the longest will be answered first... for your knowledge.

Transfering calls

It sounds like your dealer didn't properly set up incoming call distribution groups. They probably just gave you the "default" settings and left you a manual, took the check and said, "Good bye, and good luck!"

I think you mean transfer instead of forward. Your incoming calls should go through an Incoming Call Group - even if you're the only person in the group. Then you can handle the calls as they come in, transfer them out, and if you run out of buttons the system can even queue the calls up until you can get to them.

Ringer for incoming outline call??

Those settings are in the Incoming Call Distribution Group. Just add the phones you want to ring to the Members of the appropriate group.
