This means that you have a problem with the speaker outputs.
-Try turning the unit off and unplugging it.
-Disconnect all of your speakers.
-Plug it back in and turn it on.
If it works, check you speakers and wiring for shorts.

If it still shows protect then you probably have a blow output amplifier and it will need repair.

SONY STR-DE445 UNLOCK CODE

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot if the word PROTECT or PROTECTOR is flashing on the A/V receivers display.

  1. Check the speaker wires and speakers for proper connections.
  2. Reduce the volume level. IMPORTANT: If the receiver is played back at maximum volume level it may enter the protect mode. Maximum volume listening will cause the receiver to run very hot and may drain the output capacitors.
  3. Disable the surround sound option if both the A and B speakers are being used simultaneously.
  4. Ensure the top of the receiver has proper ventilation to keep it from overheating.
  5. If the message only occurs when using a DVD player, the sampling frequency may be set too high. IMPORTANT: Some receivers provide compatibility with the higher sampling frequencies through alternate connections. Consult the owners manual for specific information.
  6. Unplug the AC power cord for about 1 to 2 hours to reset the output transformers.
If the issue is still unresolved, service may be required.

Please help me i have a problem with my hifi .i got the message protect push power

This indicates a load problem in the system, turn power off! remove all speakers and wires, now turn the receiver on "this will reset the safety circuits" and turn the volume right down, If the word protect stays off it means there is a short in the speaker wires or one of the speakers. Now if the word protect comes on when you turn the receiver on "with all wires and speakers dis-connected" then it proves one or more of the audio output ic's are shorted, this is where a technician will be needed to further assess the situation.

I get a message Protect. All other controls are

Usually the protect is a safe mode to indicate that your set is unsafe. Starrt by checking the speakers, speaker wires for shorting. detach the speaker lines and power on the set for confrimation. check in power/auxially circuits in the set. it is possible that your mechanism drive / audio output drive Ic's could have shorted. Most of these cirrcuits have an error detection of higher current to cut off power and issue a protect warning. so discoonect the IC power to confirm. Hope this helps. Good day

When the receiver start, after 10 sec, he goes in

THE GOAL HEAR IS TO DETERMINE IF THE INSTALLATION IS CAUSING YOUR PROTECTION FAULT OR IS IT THE RECEIVER ITSELF HAVING INTERNAL DAMAGE. REMOVE THE RCA INPUTS AND DISCONNECT THE SPEAKERS, THEN POWER THE RECEIVER UP WITH THIS NO INPUT, NO SPEAKER LOAD CONDITION. IF IT STILL GOES INTO PROTECTION, THEN THE RECEIVER WILL NEED TO BE SERVICED, AS YOU HAVE TOTALLY SIMULATED A BENCHED CONDITION THAT IS TOTALLY INDEPENDENT OF YOUR INSTALLATION. MOST TIMES, THE RECEIVE WILL GO INTO PROTECTION WHEN IT SEES AN EXCESSIVE LOAD WHEN TURNING UP THE VOLUME, WHICH IS USUALLY CAUSED BY TOO MANY SPEAKERS OR DAMAGED SPEAKERS, BUT IF NO SPEAKERS CONNECTED, THEN IT IS USUALLY BECAUSE THE RECEIVER SEES AN EXCESSIVE LOAD DUE TO ITS OUTPUT SECTION BEING DAMAGED. IN ANY CASE, ONCE REPAIRED, YOU MUST CHECK YOUR SPEAKERS FOR BURNED VOICE-COILS, WHICH WILL IMPOSE AN EXCESSIVE LOAD TO THE AMPLIFIER AND CAN CAUSE IT TO FAIL AGAIN. LET ME KNOW IF YOU NEED FURTHER ASSISTANCE.....V

How do i disable the protect mode?

Ensure your speaker ratings (4 ohm, 8 ohm, etc) are sufficient with the output of your unit. The protect mode sense a currently level on the output amps that is nearing the failure rating. Just make sure your have properly rated speakers.
