Hi there!
The compatibility of the paper may affect the issue that you are having. I have a brother printer also and prints on 4x6 size what i can suggest is to try turn the photo paper upside down, so facing the tray, 2 sheets at the bottom should have the glossy side up. and the sheet where you need to print the photo should be facing down. So when the paper roller grabbed the photo paper at the top it will smoothly pass thru,
Hope this helps!

Ivan, see if there are some paper clips or other similar objects stuck somewhere around the paper rollers. There are micro-switches around the rollers, you may want to take a brush and clean up any dust buildup that may be causing these micro-switches to trick the printer into thinking that there's a paper jam of some kind
Maybe you can try reinstalling the driver or if the cartridge was bought from 3rd party, you might want to buy one directly from the manufacturer.
Good Luck.
you need a new waist ink absorber box which can be purchased from a service partner near your home. see brother homepage of your country. After replacing you have to do a eeprom reset which can be found at TIPs here in the forum.
