Pencommander icon is not displaying in system tray-Text is not displaying in the editor while drawing.
I am using i-ball digital pen tablet,i installed the pensuite software in vista os(by renaming w2k to .inf for setuptext file).But the problem is pencommander icon is not displaying in the system tray.Only pen is identifying and text i am trying to draw is not dipslying in the editor(pen mail/word editor).Can any one give the solution for this problem.Thanks.

Have you tried pulling the nib out (the end bit you draw with)? It could be that something is sticking the nib further inside the pen than it should, which is telling the pen you are applying pressure. As far as I know there is a little spring inside the pen that the nib pushes on when you touch the pen to the tablet. Perhaps the spring is permanently squished in.
If you have Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005 installed on it, you can use the Wacom Pen to enter text instesd of type it.
On Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005, there is an Input panel Icon on the tray bar, usually to the left, close to the Start button. Use the pen to click the Input Panel. When it opens showing you a black line on yellowish backround you can start using the pen as if it were on paper. Depending on the pen input setting it will insert automatically or waits for you to press the insert button. However for the converted text to be inserted you need to have a text editing software open (Word Pad for example.)
If when you open the input panel you see a keyboard you can change that to handwriting (continuous line) or typing separate letters.
The computer can be taught to recognize your handwriting: You will need to practice. You might have to download and install the relevant ink recognition package for your language. Look for it on the Microsoft tablet PC page.
This problem commonly occurs due to a stuck "nib" sensor (the sensor that detects pen pressure).
Take out the "nib" (important, so the sensor isn't damaged further) and whack the pen on your desk (or drop it on the floor
from 3 feet up). It re-seats the "nib" sensor when it's stuck. If this
doesn't work after multiple attempts, then the sensor may be too damaged.
I have just begun to have the same issue. For me it is happening even with using the pen to open Photoshop and though it's in Photoshop where the problem begins, it isn't fixed by quitting the software. It remains click-activated for the entire system and only a restart will fix it which is very impractical. Previously the issue was that it wouldn't release the option(alt) key. Relaunching Finder would fix this issue but not the click problem. Very frustrating!
OK, I found the problem -- if you open photoshop with the mouse (whether it be through the quicklaunch bar, start menu, or desktop icon), the pressure sensitivity doesn't work. If you open it with the stylus or function button (I have a function button mapped for photoshop now because of this, since there's no icon on my tablet's display with how I have my display set up) the pressure sensitivity works fine.
A quick KIND of fix, but until Adobe actually does something about it, this is probably the easiest way to do it.
Using the pen is quite simple. You extract it from its storage space and use it as a mouse, left clicking it as you would a mouse. By pressing the tip of the pen on an area on desktop or on an application window and maintaining the pressure for a short while, you activate the context menus (the equivalent of a right click.)
On the Windows task bar (for Windows XP) there is a small icon near the start button that shows a pen pointing outside: that is the input panel. Click the icon with a mouse or your pen, and an input area opens. In that area you write with the pen (writing Pad) or enter letters and symbols one at a time (Character Pad) or use a virtual keyboard.
Under the red X that closes the input panel there is a small gear. C;ick the gear with the pen or a mouse to configure the settings.
Your pen may have an eraser at the rear end and/OR on the side. It is used to erase characters or whole sentences.
To actually record (write) what you enter with the pen you must have a text-editing application open and running. Whenever you approach the pen to the screen near a text-area (search area of IE or other compatible applications) a small icon appears to be clicked to enter text. This happens is you select UNDOCK in the input panel configuration.
