you can check the hard drive connection's first (sata or IDE) try to tighten the connection and try to reboot your system the if it still doesn't work try to download a hard drive utility tools like hiren boot cd and scan your hard drive for bad sectors and repair it if posible, for further question post your detailed problem here
yes you can. i suggest using a program called acronius true image. add the new hard drive. be sure to turn on the sata or ide option in the setup bios. then use the true image software to clone your operating systems to your new hard drive. your source drive will be the original drive, and the destination drive will be your new drive. once the operation is complete , youll need to enter setup again and suggest that the new drive be your first boot device. just follow the on screen directions to complete the new setup. NOW... you can keep your old drive for a backup drive , or... you can format that drive and use it for a secondary storage drive. the hard drive can be accessed by my computer then open the drive and simply drag and drop or choose the drive from a save file drop down selection location popup window. this will allow you to save important files that can be accessed at anytime if your system main drive were to ever fail. another option you have is to place your old hard drive in a external hard drive enclosure that can be purchased via ebay and will allow you a large storage device that is mobile and hold mass data unlike a flash drive. this can be a very valuable tool and wont cost more than 20.00 here is a link for an ide hard drive enclosure with free shipping. if you need a sata enclosure, change the search results to (3.5 sata hard drive enclosure) the choose buy it now and choose PRICE+shippind:LOWEST FIRST. hope this was helpfull.
your power supply is bad. the blinking light means there is a failed component in the power supply. replace the power supply and you will be good to go. around 60 dollars at any computer place. please rate me thank you.
Make sure there is a harddrive installed in the computer, If there is make sure there is a operating system installed on the hard drive. If that checks out, boot up the BIOS by turning it on and press DELETE untill BIOS Menu comes up and then configure your hard drive to boot in the priority menu.
Of course. You can use some live linux distro (Ubuntu in example) or Hiren's Boot CD (one of the best tools, download here: http://rapidshare.com/files/426971514/Hirens.BootCD.11.1.rar )
Do you have your Vista installation disc? If so, you can boot from that and then run the Windows RE troubleshooter, which should be able to test your hard drive and maybe even try to repair it.
It would seem you've lost your display driver or it has become corrupted somehow. If you have created a start up disk, insert it into the disk drive as soon as you boot up the computer. If you do not have one you'll need to go to another computer and create one. This should rectify your situation, if not it is very possible that your monitor is at fault, try to borrow one from a friend and this will eliminate all possibilities. Thasnk you, Dana
Do you see the BIOS splash screen or anything?
Try booting into safe mode by pressing F* as soon as you power on the computer. If the monitor works, then it is a bad driver. Roll back to a previous restore point, boot to last known good coonfiguration. Last Known good configuration is available from the same as the safe mode screen.
