Turn on the projector
press MENU (as show in picture step by step)
use down arrow key and select SETUP
press ENTER
use down arrow key to select LAMP SETTING
press ENTER
menu screen below will be appeared.
ON SCREEN display
setting for lamp replacement
Has the projection lamp been replaced?
YES NO
Select YES with left arrow key (yes is preselected)
press ENTER
ON SCREEN display
lamp replacement process is now complete
press ENTER
now exit the MENU with menu key and check the lamp timer

To reset the lamp timer:
1) With the projector plugged in and turned off, press the 'ON/STANDBY' button to put the projector in 'STANDBY' mode. NOTE: You have to press the button on the projector itself, you cannot use the remote for this step (this is not clear in manual).
2) Now, using the remote, press the following keys in order: RESET, <--, -->, ENTER.
3) Timer should now read '0'.

On page 24 in 'Advanced Mode', it tells you how to re-set to factory settings, and that will probably include zeroing the lamp hours.
If not, there seems to be nothing else there.

According to the manual, you need access to the RESET button, the left and right arrows and the ENTER button to clear the counter. Press the following in order for less than 5 seconds each:

RESET
Left Arror
Right Arrow
ENTER

The above sequence should clear the counter.

HOW DO I RESET THE LAMP TIMER ON A SONY KDF55WF655

Procedure for resetting your lamp timer,

Use the Remote Commander to put the set into service mode to display the service menus.

1. TV must be in standby mode (Power off).
2. Press the following buttons on the Remote commander within a second of each other: DISPLAY ==> Channel 5 ==> Volume + ==> POWER. The first service menu (TV) displays.

To reset the Lamp Timer:
1. Press the JUMP button 3 times on the remote to get to the Panel OSD mode.
2. Next press the remote channel 2 button 9 times to get to the Lamp Timer mode.
3. Press the remote 3 button, mute, then enter to reset the timer to zero.

It will take 45-50 seconds for the timer to reset. After the timer is reset you can shut the TV off. The lamp timer will remain reset (no need to save).

My sony bravia 32

Unplugging compleatly should reset any kind of timer settings. I've had a look through the manual here though and there is NO mention of this atall.. Very strange..
