How do I change the number of rings on the phone before it goes into voice mail? If I am not beside the phone, after 2 rings it will go into voice mail and I am missing calls. The model is AT&T 974.

If you didn't get an answer on this yet, by default 2 separate offices with phonelines don't come with any sort of intercom feature.

there ARE ways to get it, but you'd have to talk to your local phone company about options.

If you have Internet service, you'd have to setup or subscribe to a VoIP provider. Then it's easy to get that working. You would also need VoIP phones though.

I have the AT&T Model 854 4-line phone. When the phone is plugged in the phone starts toning and won't stop.

Thats because its looking for the intercom number to be assigned. as soon as you assign one in programming it will stop.

I need to know how to page another extension. Our Avaya phones do not have the intercom button. I thought there should be a function code to program a button for Intercom, but I'm not finding it. I need to...

There are 2 buttons right below Line 1 and Line 2. Those are both intercoms.

When paging a phone, you just insert a * (star) before the extension number.

SO, Intercom*11, will page extension 11

To program on a button, feature 00, press the button you want to program, then press the left intercom and *xx (where xx is the extension number)

As far as paging all the phones, you will need to have them in a calling group (1-4), hten you can page the group to page them all.

158d system

The paging connects to one of the line ports on the system. Its needs to be specified in system programming which line you will be using. When you login to System programmiing (feature-0-0-left intercom--left intercom) you can go to Loudspeaker Paging Line #617, then select an unused (available) line. (feature-0-0) to save. Then go to the system and the port of the line you selected is where you will connect the signal leads to the paging horn. Then use Intercom *70 to page or program a paging button
