You should be able to pull down on the front of the stylus and then pull it out from the cartridge. There is no weight adjustments on this model.

SOURCE: how do i replace belt on lx250h?

Not sure about yours, but some of these one lifts the rubber pad to get access to the belt through holes in the platter when you are re-installing to get the belt back on the hub it runs on. One usually has to lift the platter off to get the belt around the center hub and the motor pulley first..

You can probably find the belts online with a Google search.

SOURCE: the turntable motor runs but

most platters are secured with a c clip in the middle --gently prying it off should allow the platter to be removed--than a little dexterity is required to reattach the belt to the pulley and around the bottom of the platter--if the belt is broken or stretched you can pursue a replacement at mcm electronics .com

When I press Start the needle moves over, drops down, then comes back up and over and stops. It does this about 95% of the time.

did you try placing the needle on the record manually? Did it work okay then or did it do as you mentioned?

Need a new stylus for my turntable SONY PS-LX250H and cannot seemed to find a new one. where can I get a new one at.

Assuming it is the original ATN-3600 cartridge, a simple web search for "sony ps-lx250h replacement stylus" or "atn3600 stylus" locates some.

If the cartridge is something different you should search for that model's stylus, not one for the TT itself.

My Sony PS-LX520 gets stuck in grooves on the LP. What should I do to fix the problem?I checked in a local audio store. They suggested changing the needle. Will this help ?

It might, however if the LP is damaged or got something stuck in the groove no. If it only does it on one LP and no others then, again the answer is no. However if any other record shows signs of poor sound then the stylus might indeed need changing.
If you need a good record cleaner (that gets rid of static too) try the website below. I use the cleaner all the time it's good stuff.

Have you measured the stylus downforce. It usually is between 1 & 1.5 grams.

Need a stylus ND-6516

These are the two that I use the most when replacing needles. www.lpgear.com and www.needlefinder.net. The latter one has an e-mail address and they're pretty quick to get back to you.

Needle replacement...missing part?

To replace the stylus (N-6516 from your Sony dealer)

1.Turn off the amplifier
2. Protect the stylus with the stylus cover (it flips down 90 degrees)
3. Grasp the stylus holder (exposed when cover was flipped down) and pull it away from the cartridge body
4. Insert the stylus by pushing it in to the cartridge receptacle. Flip the stylus protector up.

Replacing the stylus

Go to esupport.sony.com and type in your turntable model, PS LX250H. The "H" is important. Available is the complete manual, and a separate publication just on removing the stylus and setting EQ. Basically, swing the protector bar down over the needle, and snap the entire (mine is beige) unit down from the tone arm, then pull forward. I'm still shopping for the replacement, frankly.
