It also could be the imaging drum. They only do so many prints. If you didn't do many prints... it could have been damaged by light if you left the door open to the toners. You should be able to pick one up at a local office supply (probably special order though :( )

Try cleaning the black bars on the bottom of the top cover. These are the LED's, which put the image on the drums.

Our C9800 Oki laser printer is printing images darker in colour on one side of the page to the other. It looks like it is printing with a lot more yellow on one side. If I send the paper short egde feed it...

What you have here is one of the LED print heads is not sitting correctly on the corresponding drum. Make sure the LED head is free to move and there is no foreign object sitting in/on the drum. Where it is darker the print will be fuzzy around the edges and that confirms what I have said.

Hello, I have a problem with my c3200! looks like yellow, and color looks faded. The image I'm trying to print looks all faded. Any help would be great thank you for your time

Try running the gradient/color adjuster (do a full test). It's in Additional Functions screen.
The C3200 series is known for this and many other issues. Most of the customers that I met has since switched to a Xerox color machine that has much better results (Docucolor series for print shop/marketing type work, and the WorkCenter 7600 series for high end office work. Both same body design, different engine/system software)

Printing okay on left side but gets darker and blurrier towards right side of lines

Remove the toner cartridge and drum assembly together. Gently rock the assembly from end to end, as when installing a new toner cartridge. Then put the assembly back in place. This procedure worked for me. I'm guessing that I must have laid the toner and/or drum on its side, or perhaps upside down, when I was replacing the drum, and this was responsible for the problem.

Okidata c3200 - "needs new drums" message

Check your page count, drum life on a C3200 is roughly 15000 pages. This information can be found on the information menu map.

Life Expectancy ecblank.gif ecblank.gif dot.gif ecblank.gifToner Cartridge
Life expectancy approximately 1,500 pages, assuming about 5% coverage, which means that 5% of the addressable dots in an image are printed with this color of toner. See Toner Cartridge..

Image Drum
Life expectancy approximately 15,000 pages, assuming an average of 3 pages per print job. If the average print job is longer than this, the image drums could last longer, but if the average print job is shorter, then image drums will be used more quickly. See Image Drum.

Non-printing gap/line down page

Hey Danzo, This error is usually caused by dirt (usually toner) on the laser lens. There should be a cleaner pad somewhere on your machine (though I am not totally familiar with Oki) that will wipe across the lens. If there is no pad, you may have to find access to the lens and wipe it manually with a tissue or similar
