please ensure that your mute and volume down buttons are not currently stuck on your remote. Then, you can restart the tv and check for sound again. Please check multiple channels. If it's not working, please use the volume keys on your tv to help get the sound back. If this fails, please remove all the tv accessories and check for sound Again. Otherwise, please factory reset the tv in order to get back the sound.
I would either call JVC to see if known issue or to inquire if set has a lockout feature that kills remote and all button features----other possible reason in main board with all micro functions has a problem.
No,universal remote only work for the basic like power tv on/off,numbers on the keypad, channel up/down and volume up/down only.Beyond that like inter functions of the tv will not work with the universal tv remote.Only the original remote can do that.Try website like Remotes.com to buy an original remote.
Try the setup program. When you get to the main setup screen, look for a reset all to standard setting. That may solve the problem. If it doesn't then the sound module may need to be replaced inside the TV.
It could be a stuck button on the set. check to make sure they all feel the same.. If one don't feel right try to free it .. If a button is stuck it wont let any of the others work or the remote.
good day
due to the long time the buttons were not used, they tend to get stuck and this causes channels eighter to stay in one station or continou scanning. it could be resolved by spraying WD40 on the buttons and press it many times then dry it before operating the unit.
If you have the remote, have you tried it ?
Have you tried the volume button on the front of the set ?
If neither the remote or the button will work, then you may have a problem with the microprocessor IC (system control). If this is the case, then the set might not be economical to repair.
Perhaps the volume "up" button is stuck ?
