use the above link and download the audio driver by selecting note book then extensa then model#5510, then download the audio driver and install it.
it will also work on 5520.

You will need to open a new internet page, and copy this text fully into the addressbar to download the guide, starting with ftp:

The zip file has the pdf format manual inside, if you can't open it let me know.
Thru the Operating System if accessable... Click on Start, Accessories, System Tools, then BackUp..If Drive wont boot, you will need to add it as a 2nd drive on another compatable Laptop or a PC that has an adapter..then copy the drive
free would be nice (NOTE: there is an Aspire 5520 not the same thing)
