If the monitor power light on remains on, either the monitor itself or VGA cable is faulty. Move the cable to see if there is any change on the display. I'd suggest changing the cable - less expensive than a monitor. If not the cable, the monitor is faulty.
Hi Danny, you haven't been very clear I will assume you pushed the auto configure on the monitor, I would go into the menu on the monitor and reset the size of the screen if it has a setting for that 1024x768 should fix the problem let me know what you find as I have never worked with a hp W19 monitor, if nothing else set the monitor to defaults again in the menu and that may get you back to having normal screens.
