My brother DCP_7040 has been making loud clicking noises for sometime and will not print I get out of paper message. (It's full of paper.

Check there is nothing in the fuser at the back, and that the fuser will turn (CAREFUL it may be hot) Pull the drum and toner unit out, and separate the two components. Check the Developer roller on the front of the toner cartridge turns smoothly and quietly. Any noise is bad. Check the cylinder in the drum unit also turns smoothly. (turn it with the gear, don't put fingers on the cylinder itself). Put it all back together and listen for noise when the machine winds up. a loud ratchety noise usually indicates the gear train is under too much load and is often caused by a strain on the drum rotor.

A printer error comes up that the printer is out of paper, when in fact there is lots of paper and you can use the copyier mode. What is the problem?

Hi,

While the printer is on, remove the power cord from the back of the printer. Wait 30 seconds and plug the power cord into the back of the printer. If the printer is not already on, turn it on by pressing the (c01114458.gif ) button. Replace any paper that is ripped, dusty, wrinkled, or bent. If the paper is curled, uncurl the paper by gently bending it in the opposite direction of the curl or replace the paper.Make sure that all the papers are the same size and type. Tap the stack of paper on a flat surface to align the edges.Make sure that the stack of paper to be loaded in the unit contains from 10 to 25 sheets of paper.Insert the stack of paper into the printer and then gently push the paper-width guide snugly against the paper.
Adjust the paper settings in the print driver. The paper settings in the print driver must match the paper settings for at least one of the installed paper trays.

Open a document in the program in which it was created.
  1. Click File .
  2. Click Print .
  3. Click Properties to open the Properties dialog box.
  4. Click the Features tab.
  5. In the Resizing Options area, from the Size drop-down list, select More .
  6. Select the size of paper loaded in the unit and then click OK .
  7. In the Basic Options area, from the Paper Type drop-down list, select More .
  8. Select the type of paper that you have loaded, and then click OK .Click OK to close the Properties dialog box.
Click Print or OK to begin printing.

Step 2:

  1. Turn off the unit and unplug the power cord.
  2. Press in the tabs on the left and right side of the two-sided printing accessory. Remove the accessory by pulling it away from the printer
  3. Gently pull the paper out of the rollers.
  4. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with wate
  5. Close the Two-sided printing accessory cover until it locks into place.
  6. Try printing again. If the issue is not solved, continue on to the next section.
  7. If this does not work need to service the printer ........

Problems printing to Brother MFC 8660DN printer

Pull the paper tray, likley a small black lever to the left of the roller called the edge actuator is dislodged and hanging down. When in position the actuator should easily push up and appear flat next to the roller.

Printer R300

make sure you have the paper where it hits the part that sucks in the page to be printed (you can see the gray stucture by removing the paper and looking into where the paper is put) this might cause your papers, if you have a small amount, to bend to where the dip of the curve is facing the front of the printer. *Also the best way to prevent this is by having a LOT of paper where its fed (if the bending thing doesn't work.* Also the clicking noise is the sucking part not getting a piece of paper. This is because the paper not inserted correctly means that the pronter detects that paper is in the pronter but it can't get it.

GRINDING NOISE or PAPER JAM

If you are not a technical person best thing to do is to show it to an expert. grinding noise means some part in the machine is running with the friction. and might brake something or scratch something. Find out persons who work on photocopiers in your area either samsung or Xerox. as this model comes with both the companies and Xerox people are generly better than samsung people.

Loud clicking noise

This is one of the known issues with the HL-5240. This will require a replacement paper tray. Definately the problem if it is more of a clack than a click.
