My oven displayed F5 then F3 code I believe after a nearby lightning strike, When installing new sensor with supplied wire nuts I found black marks on oven side connector. Immediate F4 error code when...

Hello,

When checking the sensor it shouls be checked at room temp (even if power off) at it should be between 1060-1100 ohms at room tempature. 16 ohms the new sensor is shorted the F2/F3/F4 all relate a faided sensor and the F5 error code says the clock (electronic oven control) is defective.

Test the sensor again at room temp...if only 16ohms its no good and will throw the F4 code everytime again a good sensor measured at room temp should be between 1060-1100 ohms

The oven keeps beeping code F4.

Hi

F4 Error indicates a loose/broken wire on the oven temp sensor or the oven temp. sensor itself is bad and should be replaced. To solve this issue test the oven temp. sensor, it should read between 1080-1120 ohms, if the rating is more then that and the door appears to be closing fine then it is the control board that is bad and should be replaced. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

F3 f4 gaas oven when preheated these numbers appear it beeps and shuts off

Hi, replace the oven temperature sensor if "F2," "F3" or "F4" is displayed. "F2" indicates the oven temperature is too hot and the oven temperature sensor is suspect. "F3" or "F4" indicates the oven temperature sensor or shorted or open.

F4 error code on Jenn-Air W30400BC expressions built in oven

Slone, F4 is the code for a shorted temperature sensor. This is the temp probe in the oven. There are 2-quarter inch screws holding it on. It should pull out through the insulation until the quick connect comes through. If you want to make sure, the sensor should ohm out at 1143 ohms at 100 degrees. I think you can be pretty sure that this is the problem. The part number I have is 704657. Catriver.

PROBLEMS WITH FR ERROR MESSAGE APPEARING

Mewood What part did you call "thermostat"? If you?re talking about the device which operates the oven temperature, your oven does not have such thermostats. It has two oven temperature sensors (one in each oven) and a control board (ERC). An error code "F4" will be displayed along with a beeping sound if the ERC determines an open oven temperature sensor circuit. It can be the sensor itself or the wires that connect the sensor to the ERC. The F4 message will not be displayed in the time of day mode. To get access to an oven sensor and wires, the oven has to be removed from the cabinet. Then you have to remove the rear cover. Then unplug the oven sensor and check the resistance across the oven sensor. It?s supposed to be about 1100 ohms at room temperature. If the resistance is incorrect, the sensor is bad and needs to be replaced. If not, check all the wires from the oven sensor to the ERC. If it is not the sensor and wires, you have to replace the ERC, but most likely the problem is with the wires and/or connections. Part number for ERC is 62965, part number for oven sensor is 62593. Gendos....post back.
