Network cable is good and light on in back but printer says offline?

Please also check whether USB cable is good. Did you compare it with other USB cable?

If the system is unable to detect the printer, it will put the printer in offline mode. In this condition you won't get any print outs..
1. chk usb cable
2. un plug the usb cable, un install the drivers, plug the usb cable & chk new hard ware found?.. if not there is usb port issue, chk system usb port/s are working or not.. if yes

Is this network printer or stand alone printer?
For both, check the power of printer.
For network printer, check print server is working, network cable from printer to print server is fine, check your computer connect to network.
For stand alone printer, check cable connect between your computer and printer.

If they are all good, restart your computer to let windows pick up your printer when it start up.

Though you can see the printer in a list of network devices only means at one time that print was installed on your network and had not been removed. It says offline because there is a connection problem between your printer and your network. How is it connected to your network? Switch? Router? I know you checked the connections in back of the printer but did you check the connections on both ends? Also you can try to change the cables out , maybe the cables are bad. The printer may have to be reconfigured for your network.

make sure the lan cable is properly connected and you are able to acces the printer ip.
Go to printer and faxes option and choose the printer model which you installed just right click on it you will see the option of use printer online.

To get back online of your printer, go to Control Panel and Select Printer & Faxes then OPEN.
A list of Printer is on the browser, point the printer with your mouse then right click on your Printer HP OfficeJet to select Printer Offline and click it to go back Printer Online. Good luck!

If this is a new printer, chances are you may have left a piece of orange tape some where in the printer, otherwise you may have to remove the transfer belt, power the printer on and wait for it to say that it is missing, replace the belt and power on again, should fix it.
