It sounds like your media is malfunctioning (blown resistor=gets hot).
Our company, LC Technology, is the only Sandisk-approved
data recovery company and we have been working on their products
for over 5 years. You simply have to send your media to us.
Our technicians will recover your files on CDs and return everything
within 48h. You just need to send us your Sandisk with this form:

There is a charge for this service, but ONLY if we
are successful. The pricing is on the form. Please note
that the chances of recovery are around 90%.

You can try plugging it into a different computer, but it sounds like it has developed a short, if so the only possibility of repairing it is sending back to the manufacturer, and even then the data on it is probably gone already.

My laptop does not see my sandisk when I plugged

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted if it is not removed from the USB port properly.
Before removing the flash drive click on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive when the computer message says it is Safe to remove.
To restore the flash drive you need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.
If you need the data on the flash drive these WEB sites may help: -

Unknown device

Hello,
Plug it through different USB ports, even a USB Hub, or on a different computer. Sometimes rebooting solves the problem. I suspect it is a USB problem, especially on laptops with a small number of USB ports.
I have given mine up as dead several times, but it always comes back up gain.
Hope it helps.

When i plug my sandisk 2gb it dosent work!

Have you tried every USB port? Do any other things work on your USB ports? Is it USB 2.0 and your computer only does USB 1.0? Have you tried the sandisk in another computer? Does the USB port feel loose when the sandisk is inserted? Sounds like the sandisk may be bad.

Stopped working COMPLETELY!!!!

Had same problem.

I wiggled back and forth the part that goes into the USB port and the drive was recognized and I could copy my files onto my hard drive.

I had this problem with a different make USB flash drive and used the same procedure to get the files back.

I think that some connection inside the flash drive works loose after a while.

I am not going to trust these drives for files storage, but only to transfer files.
