He told PC model good , 2005 made, 13 long years old
AGE MATTERS for COIN cells and HDD, ok?
then told no monitor model or number. oops a daisy.
nor what cable used, there, vga/dvi/dp,hdmi, or?
The old monitors had there own internal sleep timer
back in year 2007, but no monitor told, (I know them well)
but his monitor is working ok
but gee, the old ones have a built in sleep timer,
so in the monitor push menu, the find sleep timer and turn it off for ever, now the monitor only goes to sleep if PC goes to sleep
see?
your PC can be cured one way easy
in plug it from the AC wall, jack.
the push the power button ON PC< the fans (both) run for 1 second and die, this IS NORMAL< and this discharges
now the whole PC is 100% dead all capacitors inside are now fully discharged, now put bad AC power cord to wall AC jack.
turn on the PC and set your goals to get BIOS working next.
Windows VISTA (2005) last, ok? is 2007, XP is 2005 this PC.
the PC must turn on and both fans spin, if not the PSU is dead.
the top fails for all PCs this old are, 2005 made are
coin cell battery dead, never seen one last 13 years. not ever.
next is HDD dead, most never go past 10 year mark.
so we run FULL and complete SMART HDD tests first
tying to run any OS on a bad HDD is silly and vast waste of time.
ask how to test. we have free tools to do so.
(Linux is what we use in boot demo mode)
what if?
an old ,monitor is 2005 made (not stated)
see this. see this, old monitor , HP ,dell, all top brands did this.

Do u evr shut it off n givit a rest..circuits will wear n git hot. Like us w out sleep. Id stopit cuppl hrs aday
huh, is that English.?
all PCs overheat if the fans die.
all do and then he CPU halts (intel inside does that in pure logic)
NO PC overheats if it is serviced and cleaned
a FACT !
Didnt kno there was languagepolice. Circuits wear from constant amps..thats how components git hot on old stuf n dont run..specialy in cars

Hello, Kpruetz is almost impossible to find the issue without testing and measure your device because of that problem beginning in the computer, not in the monitor; like firmware, filters or other components, I sorry about that. If you have guaranty range you can contact the customer services, then they can solve the issue https://support.lenovo.com/us/en/?menu-id=Technical_Support
the post should say DEAD PC.
and it is not IMPOSSIBLE, to diagnose PCs that are dead.
here, are some simple tests.(shocked?)
this is a desktop, the monitor works on other PC so test #1 was done.
we know monitor is good and PC is bad.
I guess VGA cables connected, not the other ways.
This PC is 2005 (as old as) and run for 13 years ? so is it full of 13years of lint
and PSU and CPU fan and heatsinks packed ?
never seen one not do that, that old and abused,(means never cleaned for 13 years)
test 2,
is fans. both the PSU fan and CPU fan must spin, seen, and heard, and felt to blow.
if both fans are dead, the PSU is dead.
I most cases not all.
see NOT IMPOSSIBLE, and we have more tests.
you can guess or test, what will it be.
Guessing is very expensive.
the list of tests are here, 1 by 1.
http://pcdied.com/dead-PC.html
got FILTH? (lint) as seen here.http://pcdied.com/overheated.html
Thank you!
tell if fans are dead first. both. psu/cpu)
just one question.
try taking out memory. clean contactsstall
clean contacts and reinstall
Thank you John
did that solve the issue?
