Just got Hannspree ST32AMSB. trying to connect both DVD player and Wii console directly to TV. DVD player works perfectly - connected to first set of A/V inputs (red in red, white in white, yellow in green video). try to connect Wii into second set of A/V inputs (red in red, white in white, yellow in green). get audio, but picture is in grainy black & white?! tried to switch Wii and DVD player (moved Wii to first set of A/V inputs, moved DVD to second set) - Wii looked perfect, but DVD player had audio but no picture?!

Try to use a HDMI cable, your component cables may not be usable with your TV.

The only workarounds I have seen, are pull out pin number eight out on your scart lead, this will stop it auto switching, or alot of these wireless video senders block the auto switching features when connected up through the via the scarts.

I got a new nintendo wii today and everything works fine but the sound doesnt come on what should i do? i made sure everything was lined up right

The quickest thing you can try is to connect it to another TV and see if it works.
There are various methods for connecting the Wii to the TV. In the box you should have a component video lead with red, white & yellow connectors. These can be connected directly to the corresponding inputs on the TV or you can connect them to the SCART adaptor and then connect that to a SCART input on the TV. Try using the red, white & yellow leads directly if possible, just in case the scart converter is faulty. If you have more than one set of RWY connectors on your TV then make sure you are using the correct set (you might connect the yellow video to one set and accidentally connect the red & white audio to another set). If you are using the SCART input then try swapping to another input if possible.
Make sure the all the connections are fully pushed into the Wii and the TV.

JUST BOUGHT wii SPORTS FOLLOWED THE STEPS TO

The best thing I can think of is to turn on the wii, go to the tv and press tv/video once and if nothing shows up then press it again (this will take your tv to video 2) and if that doesn't work then turn your tv to channel 3 or 4 and see if one of those channels work, also if your wii is plugged into a vcr or dvd player make sure that vcr/dvd player is on!
I'd recommend just directly plugging the wii into the tv though on the count that its easier to setup that way...

If this doesn't work then call nintendo because their customer service is superb in my opinion.

I need to know what channel to operate my wii on. I have a toshiba tv that is about 8 years old.

Try changing the TV inputs to VIDEO or AUX, using the remote or a button on your TV. If there is not a way to connect the Wii to the TV using the 3-cable system (Yellow, Red and White), then you might have to use a VCR or DVD player to plug the 3 cables into and then transmit the audio and video from the Wii using the regular cable line of VCR or DVD Player on TV channels 3 or 4. If your Wii has a regular TV Cable jack on the back, connect that to the jack on the back of you TV and select channel 3 or 4.

Can't get my new wii to work

Hello.
Most likely it is not your console. Depending on what type of TV it is there may be many different inputs in the back. My HDTV has 5! It can get confusing. If you have it connected directly to the TV, note which ports the cables are plugged into, then make sure the TV is in the correct output mode. Ex...cables are hooked to Video 1 in, set TV to Video 1 output. Now if you are hooked up through a DVD or VCR player it could be different. If you are hooked up to your VCR and the VCR is hooked up to the TV, the VCR would need to be powered on also. It would be the same for a DVD player. I really hope this helps you. The Wii is very fun!
I wish you much luck. If you have any more questions, please do not hesitate to click on my "Ask Me" button.
Thank you.

Connecting Wii through Component cables and Phillips switcher

I just did some more checking...

When you have the Wii connected to the AV Switch, try turning on the DVD player too, but have the switch set to show the Wii on the TV. It is odd, but that has worked for me.
