The problem of power off after startup can be caused by:

  1. a Faulty ATX power supply (the power good signal was not prperly generated to the motherboad)
  2. Cpu fan problem, the CPU temperature is abnormal
  3. faulty motherboard
to solve this problem, first change your ATX power supply unit with the same power rate. then clean the radiator and the fan. if the problem still not solved change your motherboad.

I bought a idea lenova in Nov 2009 with Sl No. L 902986 . i am not getting audio in this with Window X . Please help me

Hi,
I have had this problem before. If you recently installed another operating system on your computer and you did not back up your audio driver then you must not have one for the operating system you are currently running. For the Lenovo 3000 J series PC desktop you should have the ADI Soundmax audio driver for windows XP. The solution is to download the driver and then install it on your computer. Restart and then it should work. To download the drivers: Visit the Lenovo website Go to support Find your product Go to downloads and drivers Download the ADI soundmax audio driver

Lenovo startup problem

hi thanks for using fixya!

I suggest if you can try to make a windows update for your system. Then try to make a disk defragment. And try to conduct a full scan of your anti-virus. Then observe your system, if all same problem, I suggest that you format your system.

If you need further assistance, let me know. regards!

Formating My Lenovo 3000 J Series Tower

Try to boot a different cd, to determine whether the drive is bad or if the cd is bad. If it is the drive, you can try cleaning it or replacing it. If it is the XP cd, borrow one fro a friend and use your license, which should be on you unit.

The drivers could be down loaded from the Lenovo/IBM web site.
