Hi: When I take my thumb off the throttle my brakes do not work as fast as they use to, it take awhile for them to engage. Is there something I can do to fix my Pride Rally 3 wheeled scooter. I think I got it in 1998, so it is 13 years old and still works great except for the brakes. When I am driving it, it is no problem, but when I take out of trailer is is scary taking it down the ramp when wont stop quick.

A 13 year old working brake on a scooter is remarkable. This brake part is available and can be purchased for between $60 and $260 retail depending on model and SN. Labor is under 1 hour. You can do it yourself, installing it on the end of the motor.
If you want to clean out the dust of the disc brake you can try a strong spray of air. The dust could cause slippage if the brake were a year or two old.
After 13 years you are ready for a new brake and a new scooter so I am not sure you want to put a lot a money into repairs.
The throttle potentiometer also controls the brake engagement when you release it. You may want to invest in a new throttle pot as well ($80). This item wears out regularly. Hope this helps.

How to make the blades turn

Normally, you engage the tines by squeezing the lever on the handles. Like an old bike brake. If that doesn't work, it may need a new drive belt.

Is it feasible to move throttle and controls from right side of handlebars to the left side? I ask because my buddy just lost his right arm but Still wants to ride. Thanks

I am sure it is possible. A straight swap over won't work because the throttle slide tube would be the wrong way round and the normal operating of opening the throttle would actually close it so a redesign is required. You would also have to think about the brakes, but racers already use a thumb brake so that could be a workaround. The electrical switches are also something else that will need re-positioning. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I realize how much work is actually involved.
I very much doubt this would be a first, so get in touch with a disabled riders group and they may well already have bikes or ideas that you can discuss. Anyway, good luck with it all.

Why does my engine shut off after running for awhile with PTO engaged; will restart with PTO disengaged, but shuts off when i attempt to engage PTO?

Does this only happen when the engine is warm or at operating temperature or all the time even when cold? In older engines, a 'bad ignition coil' would fail when the engine warmed up and would not start again until cool or at ambient temperature.

Hi Bryan, it does sound like the battery, if it is a 12 Volt system, just connect a set of jumper leads from a 12 Volt battery, another bike car etc. and see if it makes a difference, i think you will find everything works fine with a new battery.

Will not go. ohm wiring all good, batteries are good, checked fusses good, replaced throttle pot assembly, replaced controller.checked motor with 24 volts it works.got scooter to move by playing with...

me tool time you checked or changed about everything but did you check the electric brake. Sounds like the brake is not working or is working intermittentaly. The controller needs to get the right reading from the brake or the scooter will not go and when you release the throttle the brake should engage immediately. I can't give you a well thats the answer but you should at least ohm out the brake. If you can call rascal Company on Monday and ask for tech support they can give you what the reading should be Hope this helps

Races will not idle down so the chain will not turn

Your not clear on the saw model or manufacturer. Is the throttle in the start position (Fast idle)? Is the chain brake engaged (Must be disengaged before chain will turn)? IMO the chain brake should not be activated before start, (hard on clutch) but may save your leg if you drop start! I start mine on the ground with right foot in rear handle with the brake disengaged.
