If it works like the 1700n (I think it does), if you press Continue twice it should light up different lights as a secondary error code. It should tell you close to where it thinks the paper jam is. Check the sensors there, clean them, whatever. If you have a spare printer, or another one, you may try switching out the sensor (takes some tearing apart of the printer) and see if that fixes it.

Update the firmware on the printer to version A02 and that will fix it.

Try feeding paper from the front, if it works, your paper pickup rollers maybe having problems (dusty/worn-out).

I was having a problem with the LOAD PAPER light. Unfortunately I spent well over an hour trying to diagnose the REMOVE OUTPUT light. Somehow my mind thought FLASHING: was part of the problem not the light will FLASH! To fix my load paper issue as I had the printer in storage for almost a year while trying to find a new home was to print something and feed the 8.5x11 manually. This must have clean the rollers as the next print job I ran didn't bring up the light and it printed from the tray. Hope this helps!!

I keep getting an error message about a paper jam for my printer but there is absolutely no paper jammed anywhere in the machine.

Have you tried a new toner cartridge, The toner cartridge has moving parts, and of the cartridge gets stuck, the printer may indicate a paper jam.

Also paper often tears when clearing jams, and the little shreds of paper can stay in the rollers of the printer and keep it jammed. Make sure to inspect all the rollers to make sure they move freely, and do not have anything stuck in them.

Paper Jam light on....have cleared everything but still light is on and printer will not work.

There is a little sensor arm under the cartridge. It gets stuck in the down position. Pop it up and it doesn't see a jam anymore

Paper Jam light is on and there's no jam anywhere. What do you do?

A paper jam notification can be caused by two things. One a hard jam, paper stuck.

Two, If the paper does not reach a flag or sensor on time, the printer knows that a jam has occurred.

Most likely, you had a paper pick problem caused by dirty rollers or maybe the paper is held to tightly by the paper tray. Also a static charge on the paper can sometimes cause sheets of paper to stick together.

Dell 1720 laser printer shows paper jam after clearing jam and turning off and back on.

Hi,
some paper piece may be left in the printer.
Please check where was the leading edge of the paper when it was jammed. some sensors may have got stuck while removing paper. open the toner door remove the toner cartridge, just see all the sensor flags with fingers, refix toner and power on and try printing
