Have a HP Officejet Pro L7580 All-in-One Printer. I have used it to scan book (to sell on eBay) in the past. Now when I try to scan it tells me there is a paper jam. I have looked all through the printer. I see NO paper. Help! I have tried HP, was on the phone for over an hour, with no real help. Thanks in advance!

Okay, here is a simple test.

Put an "X" on the top sheet of paper in the input tray. Use pencil to make the "X".

Now create a very simple text document and print it out. If the page with the "X" stays in the paper tray, then you now know that you have a "Paper Pick" failure.

Please let ma know what happens when you run the test.

Sounds like it could be printhead issue... have you replaced the printhead ? costs about $70-$80

  1. Load plain white paper into the tray.
  2. Press the Setup button (have a HP Officejet Pro - c01726396.gif ).
  3. Press the Down Arrow (c01243324.jpg ) to select Print Report , and then press OK .
  4. Press the Down Ahave a HP Officejet Pro - c01243324.jpgc="/uploads/images/c01243324.jpg" alt="c01243324.jpg" class="h_mi" /> ) to select Self-Test Report , and then press OK . The product prints a self-test report.

i would look through this link to figure out the issue first though

When I try to scan, it reads "No Scan Options".

Try scanning from the solution center. If successful, check the scan button settings if you can see applications available on the 'Destination List'. Add all the application to the right side. Close the solution center and try to scan.

Getting error when trying to fax or scan

The L7580 is not meant to be set up as a scanning device on a network. This unit can only function properly as a USB connected device to have all the features work. Also, for the software to install with out problems, all other All in One software fro previous HP printers need to be removed. Once we did that and did clean install using USB only then did it work.
