Sounds Like you need to Navigate to "Sounds" on your control Panel the Check to see if its there. If so Make it default after enabling it. If not got to Troubleshooting and run that it should clear that problem up

SOURCE: No sound with new Vizio 22" LCD TV being used as monitor

you have to hook up the 1/4 headphone jack plug to the TV, from the computer. an Y audio cable with RCA plug (male) with headphone 1/4 male plug. hook the headphone jack to the green hole of the computer(sound out) to the audio input of the TV better yet to a stereo AUX port. also make sure the mute button hasnt been pressed.

SOURCE: computer is on, moniter is on, but there is no picture.

Remove any USB devices such as mp3 players. If your computer is supplied with a wireless mouse & keyboard then leave the receiver in.

If it still doesnt work try it without the reciever. Or return it to the store where you brought it from

SOURCE: Microphone input on Dell Inspiron B130 doesn't work

Your jack may have been damaged, or the apple mic may not be compatible. Purchase another pc compatible mic to check. Or you could try a multimedia headset with mic that plugs into your usb port. Take a look at RadioShack for headsets, I saw one in a store near me. and they should have them online.

SOURCE: dell webcam manager working with msn messenger?

as ive told others, make sure u actually turn off the software program that came with the computer before using with msn! u should be able to have it on while using it but for some reason some computers wont allow it! it "tells itself" that there are 2 programs trying to run the web cam when really only one is.
but because the program is on, it sees it as being used in 2 places at 2 different times!

try turning off and exiting the software (dell webcam manager) and then go onto msn and try using ur web cam!! make sure the dell manager is exited, then when u have a msn window open, turn the cam on and see if ur friends can see u then..

good luck..
if this doesnt work ill check back and see what i can do for you!

Does the Behringer xm8500 work on it's own, or do I have to hook it up to something? My daughter wants a microphone she can sing into.

All microphones have to be hooked to an amplifier to work. The socket at the bottom with the 3 pins in it is called an XLR jack. You need to plug an XLR cord into that and then plug it into an amp that has an XLR or 1/4 inch microphone input (using an adapter).

If she just wants it for looks, then no, you don't need to plug it in.

Mic to PC

This mic is a condenser type microphone. It needs phantom power (48v) to operate. Might want to buy a USB mic preamplifier box, like an M-Audio product, which will provide phantom power, xlr/1/4 inch inputs and USB output.

How to make my co3 mic work

You will need a pre amp that supplies whats called phantom power which is power that feeds the mic .. This will come from either mixers [small cheap ones..but check it has XLR mic input with phantom power] or from a stand alone pre amp or audio interfaces with built in inputs for mics with phantom power.. Also you will need an XLR mic lead..Buy a good one with neutrik plugs or similar..

Constant noise in the backround...like dirty or loose connection

If it is not a dodgy XLR cable and you have tried a different mic pre then it sounds like a component or joint in the mic..Only an expert in that field of audio should mess with opening up the mic...

Akg c3000b Low output all of a sudden

Buy the Caig Labs De-Oxit kit and clean up/treat the XLR connections on the mic itself.

Cannot record

Im having the same probz, got a Hp Pavilion Vista using mobile pre amp usb when i record using a condenser mic XLR nothing is picked up from the channels in Cubase or Nuendo. Im trying to record vocals but the Mic is not picked up and i cannot hear myself in the headphones and it wont transfere to cubase.

It has worked before when i had a desktop, but this only worked with a separate m-audio sound card inside the desktop and i plug in the output jax leads from the desktop (soundcard) to the m-audio usb pre amp

Is this why it is not working for the laptop do i need a Jax connection and where is this audacity

Does the SE Mini use a standard cable or is there a special cable needed for use in an amp or computer?

you'll need an xlr (male) to xlr (female) to use the microphone with 48v phantom power (from a preamp). phantom power dosnt work with an xlr to jack, only both xlr.

M-udio usb microphone

You should be able to plug your headphones into your computer and get sound that way, assuming your USB mic is plugged in. If the mic is a USB - direct mic (that is, if it is a microphone with a USB cable directly attached), you will only be able to use it with your PC or laptop. If the device is a mic pre-amp (with an XLR or 1/4" connector that your mic PLUGS INTO), then you should be able to use your microphone with any device that will accept that connection type.
