Programing an old hitache remote

Hi got a question. I lost the book and been tring to find out how to program the darn remote but i cant figure the thing out. I really need some help. there is not code search button. the model is a hitachi VT-RM221A. I would reallly appreciate help with this. thanks

I can not remember the nu mbers to program in the TV for the remote. I can turn on the VCR but not the TV. I know it is somehting simple like s ymbol/2 or 4/tv but it has not been working
