The phantom power is used for condenser mics. MAKE SURE you do not plug in other mics or devices that do NOT have balanced, isolated outputs as they will short out the phantom power to others.

You should find between 15 and 48 volts between BOTH pins 2 and 3 of each mic connector when measured to pin 1 of the connector. There is about 6K ohms impedance from the phantom supply to pins 2 and 3.

IF you have an accident and connected high voltage to pin 2 or 3 it COULD back up and blow the bypass cap for the 48 volts.

Please note: ALWAYS power ANY interconnected equipment from teh SAME receptacle to avoid damage due to ground bounce in the event of a fault in a piece of equipment.

Power mixer to a power amp.

You have two aux sends on that mixer so quite easy to use one of those to feed the external power amp. You could have one set of spkrs connected to that amp and another connected to the powered mixer. This would give you full independent control over each set.

Txm20 samson ... unit wouldnt turn on... where is the fuse ?

if its not right next to where the AC power plugs in, or part of the power plug itself ( lil notch in cable recepticle that will allow it to slide out ) then it would have to be inside the mixer on the power pcb. ( the board the power cable connector is soldered to)

Phantom should ONLY be on if using CONDENSER mics or a DI box requiring phantom power... yours should be OFF. cables should be correct. The 2 Trk to mix button should be down.

Chances are there is nothing wrong with the mixer. IF you accidentally turned on Phantom power, that would cause the problem. Phantom is ONLY used with condenser mics and a few DI boxes. Turning it on can create noise unless balanced lines are used everywhere.

I have a condenser mic, and it needed phantom power to work, so I bought the Ultra Di-100, but I don't know how to make my mic work with it.

Sorry, but the DI-100 can OPERATE on phantom power, not supply it. If you have a mixer that has phantom power then you have no need for the DI box. DI boxes are to convert unbalanced signals to balanced to send via XLR or TRS cables.

If you don't have a mixer that has built in Phantom power or a source of Phantom power, then you need a mic preamp that can supply the phantom power.

Here is an example device, but DO shop[ around as you should find some even less expensive. Make sure they have phantom power.

First of all a link to the manual:http://s3.amazonaws.com/samsontech/related_docs/XM910_ownman_v1.pdf Have a look at page 14, 9. Go out of MixOut ( line level ) into any line level auxiliary inputs left and right on the other mixer. You didn't say what the other mixer is so this is the easiest. What you will have is a sub mix of everything plugged into the Samson controllable by the controls for the line in you are using on your second mixer. There are other options which you should be able to discover by reading your manual for the Samson and the manual for the other mixer.
