File transfer to computer sony ericsson w580I

When i connect my phone to computer via usb and select phone mode to transfer files my computer doesnt see it but new hardware wizard comes up and still wont find program. i have downloaded the software thats on sony ericsson's website but still wont work. when i put the phone in file transfer mode when i connect the usb my computer finds it and it works fine but i cant take the stuff off my phone in this mode just put stuff on the phone from computer......please help!!!!

    I can connect the phone to the computer. I select file transfer and the removable disk will appear under "Computer" but when I click on it, it says that there is no disk.

You need to download a media manager from http://www.sonyericsson.com/support. Select which phone you have. It will display your phone and directly above the picture it has a link for software downloads. Select the one that suits you best download and install. Enjoy

Update ur phone tru the SE website, then reload the software on ur comp..try connecting with the usb, follow wizard, and once u r connected, while disconnecting eject properly as the manual tells u to..All the best

There is a program called BIT PIM it may help. It's free. It isn't the easiest program in the world to use, but it is the only one I've ever used with any success for this application.

How can I transfer photos and videos from my W595 sony ericsson mobile to my computer?
This can be in two ways namely
1. Via Bluetooth
Ensure your bluetooth connectivity is on and also enabled on your PC,Choose the picture or video u want to send,
Select More and then Send
Select Via Bluetooth and then choose your computer from the list.
OR
2. using the USB cable.
For pictures and videos, u use Files transfer.
File Transfer allows you to drag and drop files from your phone to folders on your computer. To do this,
a.Connect your W595 to your computer with the USB cable.
b.On your phone's Menu screen select Settings and then scroll across to the Connectivity tab.
c. Scroll down to USB and then select USB Connection
d.Select File Transfer.
Your phone will shut down.Wait until your phone memory or memory card appear as external disks on your computer in Windows Explorer.
then,You can now drag and drop music files (For Disk2Phone music software) or pictures, to folders on your computer.

You cannot connect both mobiles together with a USB cable.You can connect through Bluetooth.Then you can connect each mobile to computer through USB and then transfer files.

Step's on how to down load music to a sony ericsson w580i phone
First of all attach ur phone to computer with the help of data cable.

Secondly select the MASS STORAGE MODE on ur phone.
Now u get a extra drive in ur My Computer.Open that drive and paste songs in it.

connect the usb cable to the pc then insert the disc the phone came with install it and the drivers then once the phone is read by the pc.....use the "file transfer" function that appears on the phone to view from pics to videos on your phone via computer.

Install games to Sony Ericsson W550i Cellular...
1. Connect your W550i phone to your PC using the USB cable.
2. Use it in File transfer mode.
3. Go to it's Others folder on the Memory Stick that just appeared over at the My computer screen. (probably called PHONE_CARD or something similar).
4. Copy the .jar files from your PC to the Others folder on the phone's stick.

5. Disconnect your phone properly (safely remove hardware) and allow it to restart or return to Phone Mode.

6. Go to your files on your phone (File Manager) and go to Others. Select the file, click Install.

7. It'll ask where you want to install the file, either in the Applications folder or the Games folder.
