What causes Sinotec SWTV-20AE to switch off on its own?

There are a couple of possibilities. Many modern gadgets have a power-saving setting. This turns off the unit after a period with no human interaction. (Remote button presses for set-top boxes or TVs, for example.) You'll need to change this in the settings. (I didn't see the SWTV-20AE manual online to find the menu tree.)

The other possibility is over-heating. Make sure there is nothing blocking the airflow around the unit. Remove any dust and dirt from any ventilation holes.

I hope this helps.

I need service mode for TCL 21F5 model.... Pls help..

To enter service mode on a TCL 21F5 model TV, you will need to follow these steps:
  1. Turn off the TV using the remote control or the power button on the TV.
  2. Press and hold the "Menu" button on the TV.
  3. While holding the "Menu" button, press the power button to turn on the TV.
  4. Release the "Menu" button when the service menu appears on the screen.
Please note that making changes to the service menu can cause permanent damage to your TV if done incorrectly. It is recommended that you only make changes to the service menu if you are familiar with the settings and have proper knowledge of the TV's inner workings.
Also, It's better to check the manual or contact the TCL customer service for more details.

TV dead other than green flashing light

The problem might be cause by lamp error, need to access the service mode to change the value of lamp error code to zero (0). Entering service mode requires a trained TV technician. Changing data can cause more problem to your television. If you are not qualified to service your television, please do not go to service menu codes. Moreover below are the process, pls do so at your own risk.

* Unplug the TV
* Press and hold the {VOL -} + {CH+} buttons located on LCD TV unit (not in remote control)
Note: If above didn't work, alternately use (VOL -) + (TV/AV input) buttons located on LCD TV unit (not in remote control)
* While holding the above buttons, plug in the TV.
* The TV will turn on with the "K" or "K123" appears om screen.

* Use {CH+} {CH -} buttons to go and display the service menu. Note: If above didn't work, alternately use (VOL -) + (CH -) buttons. * Search for "LAMP ERROR menu" from the displayed service menu by using "up or Down cursor" from remote control, or alternatively use "CH - or CH+ to select "LAMP ERROR" * change it to zero (0) value, using {VOL+} or (VOL -) on remote control. * Turn the set off to exit the Service Menu.

TV will not come on with remote or power button

The following instructions are for the Emerson EWC1303/1903 tv/vcr. That's the closest match I could find to the Spongebob Squarepants 13' TV
If it's actually in Sleep mode, do the following:

TO CANCEL THE SLEEP TIMER
Press the WAKE UP/SLEEP button on the remote
control until “SLEEP TIMER” appears.
To view the time left for sleep timer press the WAKE
UP/SLEEP button twice, then press the MENU button
on the remote control to exit the sleep timer setting

If unsuccessful, try unplugging the TV for 1/2 hour, then plug it in and try turning it back on either manually or with the remote. Either of these should solve your problem. Best of luck to you!

Erratic behavior...

Change all the little switches (on-off, channel up etc). If just one of the switches is intermettent, or a combination of one or more, it can cause you moe misery than you can imagine. The switches are not expensive but can cause you to lose an awfully lot of time and agravation.

TV screen on video 2 and remote died

The only way your going to change the video mode is with the original remote. If you need another remote go to http://remotes.com or call 1800 remotes Theres a button on the upper left hand side of the remote called video mode. A universal most of the time will not work this function. You could ask around to your friends and buddies or relitives if anyone has a working Sanyo remote or go to a local retailer that sells Sanyo and see if he would let you borrow one for a little while so you can switch out of the video mode. Good Luck
