Proform 680 LT Treadmill Logo
Rob Reasoner Posted on Oct 01, 2010

I've got a Pro-Form 680 LT Treadmill. Right out of the box, it has the symptoms of being in Demo Mode. You place the key on the Console and it goes to zero but then every button you push causes three beeps to occur and does nothing. If you remove the key it goes back into Demo mode. Is there a fix for the controller or is it a problem elsewhere during the installation?

Initial console would not go out of demo mode. Pro form sent replacement console, with no instuctions as to how to install new console.

Should be instruction in your manual on how to take it out of demo mode. I believe it is press the stop button and insert the key. Then press the arrow down speed button once and the letter D that was on the display will disappear. You may have other problem like a damaged upright cable.Call the number in your manual for service as you should have a free 1 year warranty.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/583110/Nordictrack-Commerical-2450-Treadmill.html?page=27

Quoting from manual above (may be similar model if not the same.)

7. Turn on or turn off the display demo mode.
The console features a display demo mode,
designed to be used if the treadmill is displayed
in a store. While the demo mode is turned on, the
console will function normally when you plug in
the power cord, press the power switch into the
reset position, and insert the key into the console.
However, when you remove the key, the screen will
show a demo presentation.
To turn on or turn off the display demo mode, first
touch the Demo Mode button. Next, touch the On
checkbox or the Off checkbox.

Nordictrack exp 1000X will only run on pre-programmed

When in Demo Mode, the console will go through a repeating lighting pattern. This mode will only become active when the treadmill is plugged in, the main on/off switch is turned on, and the safety key is not inserted into the console.
The Demo Mode was added to attract attention to the treadmill while it is on display. By default, all treadmills with Demo Mode will come with it turned on. Demo Mode can be turned off at any time.

ethod #1 to switch from the Demo Mode:
1.the STOP button while inserting the safety key tPress and hold o enter the user information mode.
2.Look in the Calories window. When Demo Mode is active, the letter 'd' will appear.
3.Press the SPEED DOWN button to toggle the mode on and off.

I need to know where the batteries go

Dear Sir: I will help you, please do the following step: Instructions Things You'll Need
  • Power supply
  • Standard screwdriver
  • Batteries
  • Access to local fuse or circuit breakers, if necessary
    • 1 Check to see if the Pro-Form device is properly plugged into a working, grounded power supply if none of the console buttons are working. Turn the device on and reset local fuses or circuit breakers if necessary; reset the circuit breaker switch on the base of the unit.
    • 2 Turn off the fitness device and unplug from the power supply if the console only shows zeros or the console buttons are not working. Use a standard screwdriver to open the battery compartment on the underside of the console. Pull out the old batteries and recycle, if possible. Replace with new batteries, using the old batteries as a guide for the size and type of batteries needed. Place the flat end of each battery against the spring inside the battery compartment and gently push the battery into place. Close the battery compartment and restore power.
    • 3 Press and hold the "Stop" button if the console is only flashing repeatedly, indicating that the device is in demo mode. Insert the console key and push the "Speed Down" button to turn off the demo mode on the unit. Remove the console key.
    • 4 Reset the console buttons if the incline is not working properly on the machine. Insert the console key and press one of the "Incline" buttons. While the incline is in the process of changing, remove the console key. Wait two or three seconds and re-insert the console key.
    • 5 Remove the console key and unplug the Pro-Form device if none of the above steps are resolving the problem with the console keys. Unscrew the three screws that hold the motor hood on the front of the device and pivot the hood off the machine. Find the magnet and small reed switch on the left side of the pulley. Turn the pulley until the magnet is aligned with the reed switch and the gap between the two is approximately 1/8 inch. Reattach the hood, screw into place and turn the treadmill back on
If you need further assistance, please reach me.

sincerely. God bless you.

Error 100 won't connect to network anymore to use ifit live

Check the power cord to ensure it is connected to the power supply and the treadmill if the power does not stay on or does not turn on. Look at the circuit breaker, located near the base of the unit, to see if the circuit was tripped. Push the switch back in to reset the circuit.

  • 2 Take the key out of the console, wait a minute and place it back in the console to resolve issues with the power turning on and off during use or if the console displays are not functioning properly.
  • 3 Remove the console key and press the "Stop" button to turn off the "Demo" mode, which is often the default setting when the treadmill is first purchased.
  • 4 Reset the incline by holding down the "Stop" and "Speed increase" buttons and putting in the console key. Release the buttons and then press the "Stop" button, followed by the down or up arrows for the incline. This step can be taken if errors are occurring with the incline function.
  • 5 Turn the treadmill "Off" and unplug the unit if errors continue. Wait five minutes and then plug the unit back on, insert the console key, and turn the treadmill "On." This will reset the treadmill and should return to normal funcTION

I have a pro-form 680 LT less than a year old. The belt seems loose, it catches as I run and I about fall over.

The walk belt should be tight (about 1.5" to 2 " when lifted at the edge), if not tighten screws at the rear. If the belt is tight enough then pull the front cover off and check the front roller. Sometimes the plastic drive pully slips on the front roller. If it only stops while you are running and is fine when you walk, i would go to the front roller.
