You probably have a nswer by now (or have given up and bought other screws, but I have to tell you we just had this exact problem! We rubbed the screws on a bar of soap. then they screwed in just fine. Its still very tight, but they go in all the way.

We also first screwed them directly into the handrails without the crossbar on to make to make sure we could get the screws all the way in (as the drilled holes were not perfect). But I think the main trick is really the soap.

Most of the time its caused from not lubricating between the treadmill belt and deck. This causes friction and the surfaces wear putting greater stress on the electronics. If the machine is over 7 years old then you need to replace the walking belt. Most proform treadmills are not meant to be run on, especially by anyone over 220lbs. Forget what the manual says, they are a terrible company.

If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. (5 to 7 cm) off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.

Hi Pstefanski..Afraid there is no easy fix to this problem..I had the same also..I called Sears and for the cost of replacing the keyboard, it would be cheaper to buy a new treadmill..keyboard was close to $300 ..depend how old it is to tellu the truth..AL

Have you considered moving the doorway first? Or you could go with what all these other people are suggesting: turn up the speed and then ride it like a tank through the wall. If you have drywall you might slide right through. Please record the whole thing for the rest of us.
