As there is no adjustment possible to raise the door, the likely culprit is a bent lower door hinge, or a damaged cam riser. Also, I've had calls where the freezer was in the basement, and due to an eneven floor, usually for the purposes of water drainage, this can sometimes cause the freezer cabinet to get out of whack.

Can I replace insulation in door only?

Hi - I understand that you recently had something heavy drop on top of your Frigidaire Freezer door. From my experience the condensation does typically indicate poor door seal. When cold air and warm air outside is entering into the freezer it causes condensation. Try checking and see if the door seal is bad; place a dollar bill between the body of the freezer and close the door. The dollar bill should stay in place and pull out with a small amount of resistance. If the dollar bill falls out when placed between the gasket and cabinet double check to see if the door is being blocked by anything stopping it from closing it. If nothing is stopping the door from closing then I suggest contacting your manufacturer and see who they recommend to repair the unit. Hope this helps! JK

We have a Kenmore 16, model model 253.8283680, that recently continuously cycles on and off. What could be the problem associated with this?

Hello;

My name is Peter. I am a retired field service refrigeration technician.

The normal cycle is: Your compressor will turn on to raise the freezer temperature 20 degrees F. above the set temperature, and then the compressor will shut off, Until the freezer temperature drops 20 degrees F. below the set temperature and again the compressor will turn on.

One of the main problems with this type of freezer is the door gasket becomes crushed over time or the door is so thin it becomes deformed.

Do not try to replace the door gasket. You have to soak the new gasket in hot water for 1/2 hour and then form it on the door.

If you notice a gap in the corner of the door - pull hard on it to get it flush.

Recondition the door gasket - With a hair dryer and a kitchen spatula, heat the gasket and try to expand the gasket by pulling out with the spatula.

You can purchase a special freezer lubricant. Be sure not to over do it. It can make the door hard to open. P/N 542638

1/2 Oz. $12.00.

How to turn off the doorajar beeping on a Kenmore Freeze and what is causing the moisture buildup inside freezer.

Check that the door gasket is not perished or damaged causing the door not to close properly. Also check nothing is hitting or obstructing the door from pushing the door open switch closed. Some fridges have a lever or button sticking up out of the door which pushes the switch off. Check if you have one and see if its broken or missing the switch. Perhaps the door has dropped and not touching the switch? The moisture in the fridge indicates that air is getting into the compartment during cooling cycle. This is common if the door isn't closing properly or the gasket has failed.

I Have A Freezer Model Fuf17svrww.the Door Open Light Control Is On And Sounds and the door is completely close

Check the door switch is being closed when the door closes. The door may have dropped just enough to allow the switch not to be activated by the edge of the door.

My Frigidaire up-right freezer used to make a sound when you closed it that sounded like the air was being drawn out. It doesn't make that sound anymore and there is ice building up at the top of the door....

either you need to put spacers under the door on the door pin to raise it up.you may need to bend the doon. or replace the door gasket

Re: danby upright freezer 20.1 cubic ft., model #

The lower hinge on each door may have a door closing cam. It raises the door up ¼ inch when opening and this assist in closing the door. If it’s wore out and doesn’t work the door may not seal and the gasket can be damaged. Watch the operation of the door to see if it rises up when opened.

Leave the door shut and let the magnetic gasket hold the door in place. Put something between the bottom of the door and the floor to hold it in case it slips.
Remove the bracket holding the pin and hinge assembly taking note of order of removal of parts. Slide new cams on. You probably need two.

Ice maker is overflowing

Older icemakers have a bar that drops from above your ice bin; once the bin is full the bar is raised and trips turning the ice maker off so that it won't dump. If your's is this style, try manually pushing the free end of the bar upward so that it locks in the upward position. Newer ice makers with the ice bin in the door have a small panel that moves to the open position when the door opens and closes when the door closes. Mine also includes an optical sensor that is visible when this panel is in the closed position. Try placing a non-clear tape over the optical sensor (don't know if that will work or not but worth a shot). If effective in stopping the ice flow then call a repairman. If none of this works, turn off the water supply coming out of the wall to your freezer.
