USB plug-ins (ports) are flat/small/rectangular openings and have half (if you look directly into the end of the plug-in) of the opening filled with a little flat (usually white) connector and the other half open to recieve the of themselves from the cord that plugs in.
The easiest way would be to follow the cable from the back of the printer to the computer and be sure the cable is inserted. A usb connection will only go into a usb connection. Another way to check is to locate your my computer icon ( on PC ) right-click it and select properties. Then select the hardware tab and click on "device manager". Scroll down to the bottom of the page, click on universal serial bus controllers, and see if one of the lines says "usb printing support". If so, then the printer is hooked up properly. If you still need more help, please let me know, so I can make sure your issue is solved.
Hi,
According to your problem, first make sure that the USB port
of your system is OK and working fine. Connect another plug and play USB device
to this port or move to another USB port. Check that you have connected the USB
cable properly. You can reinstall the driver and reboot the printer and the
system both by follow the instruction of printer installation manual. Check the
USB cable of the printer or replace the cable. It will help you.
