I have a belling farmhouse range cooker but the gas mark numbers have faded so when the oven is switched on we don't know what temp it is on. Is there any way of fixing this?

Set the marker to the level as it is and measure the temperature with a thermometer. Now use a good marker and etch it on the metal body repeat it higher and lower with a gap of say 25 degrees. Have a marking on the knob set in place and now you have made a new calibration to the oven.
Use paint.sticker or anymedium to mark it properly .
Hope my advice helps.

Oven keeps tripping Fisher paykell cooker range When I select function for oven it trips the main fuse box Setting temp sail first does not trip only when I select function ie fan assisted

Make sure there are no exposed wires, this will cause certain wires to touch and rip breakers, and also start a fire, if not dealt with.

When I turn the oven down the gas goes off and have to start again

read the user manual as the temp should be thermostat controlled were with gas there is always a pilot light burning when the oven is in use and when the set temp is reached the gas burner is shut off and when the temp fall below set point , the gas is turned on again and the pilot light starts the burner
by using the timer , when the time is reached the gas is turned off and of course you will have to relight it
if you do not have a user manual , download one from google or talk with a gas repair shop

Oven temperature on Neff 195305317 circotherm oven

hi remember that electric can kill you even if it is unplugged, if you don't know what components are likely to hold charge or have large inductance get someone else to fix it.

you need to get the service manual as tis will have fault finding charts, part numbers, location of sensors etc. If you can't get manual then:
Not likely to be temp limiter as this cuts out if temp is too hot. Find temp probe, may be ntc, mercury vapour switch etc. take probe out disconnect leads and measure resistance, heat, or cool, probe measure resistance if not significantly different (ie 10k to 100k or 100k to 300k) then probe is shot. Take probe to spares place, get replacement and refit. Be very careful to refit leads exactly as they came out, don't want insulation to melt and oven to become live. test with oven or meat thermometer as new sensor may need calibration. Should be accurate to within 10C or so

hope this helps

Oven temp will not change

Most ovens have BAKE, BROIL and yours might have CONVECTION. Turn each on independently. If all don't work its one problem if only one doesn't its another
Also is it the gas doesn't ignite or it ignites then no temp change (or electric gets to xx degrees but doesn't get hotter?

Not the right temp in the oven 100 degrees off

I have a kenmore gas range with digital display that will let me increase the temperature up to 35 degrees f*. It says to press BAKE for 6 sec., then use the number pad to increase or decrease then press START.
Hope this helps

Cooker problem

If it has a timer, make sure it is set to manual or it will not heat, another possibility is a faulty thermostat, you need to find out if you are getting power to the element, if you are then element should work unless you have got a faulty one.
Plz rate this solution.

ARISTON OVEN

I have two sources that give correspondances between thermostat numbers and temperatures.

This is the first one:

THERMOSTATS
bullette1.gifThermostat 1 30°C - 85°F bullette2.gifThermostat 2 60°C - 140°F bullette1.gifThermostat 3 90°C - 195°F bullette2.gifThermostat 4 120°C - 250°F Gas mark 1/2 bullette1.gifThermostat 5 150°C - 300°F Gas mark 2 bullette2.gifThermostat 6 180°C - 350°F Gas mark 4 bullette1.gifThermostat 7 210°C - 410°F Gas mark 6 bullette2.gifThermostat 8 240°C - 460°F Gas mark 8 bullette1.gifThermostat 9 270°C - 520°F Gas mark 10

The other one is a formula: t = 20 X (T + 3)

where t is the température in °C
T is the thermostat (1, 2 ... 12)

As you may discover, each of the methods give slightly different results. Hope this will help.

Belling Format cooker

I found the following information useful, although it wasn't a belling cooker the controls appeared to be the same. Go down to the electronic timer section. http://www.prestigeappliances.com.au/owner's-manual.shtml
