I can definitely assist with this. You'll want to access the Record Plus screen from the menu to make that change.
To get there go Menu > Preferences > Record Plus. Once there you
can choose a default TV to record, or disable the feature so it will
record on the tuner you are using, first. Let me know if you have any
other questions!
Ken, I can understand the concern and would be happy to help. I hope this has been resolved by now. If not, you'll want to press the Star (*) button on the bottom of the remote to change the screen format. If it continues, or you need any other assistance, just let me know!
Sounds like a signal strength issue. You may have either a low signal or something like a tree limb is blowing into the signal path dropping the signal strength to a point low enough to causes issues.
The ethernet port is not active on these receivers thus not allowing you to get on ine. There currently are no plans to activate this in the future but you may for an upgrade to a 722 which does allow this and is HD capable and has 300 hours of SD record tine available. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
If you have a dish network system as listed in post a DVR 625 this is NOT possible, it will only work with VIP series Dish Network recivers. and they must be used on teh same model reciever such as Vip 722, tranfer to EXT HD then Watch on another 722!
I haven't researched to actual manuals for your equipment, but I'm guessing that the optical may be disabled when the HDMI is used. You could try using the component video outputs to the TV and then the optical to the Onkyo.
