Where is the defrost clock on this model? csd2122arw

defrost timer is located at the back of fridge,doesnt look like a clock but it is,can turn it manually if it is mechanical if its electronic replace it.

Your model does not have defrost timer, instead the defrost is controlled by Main control board located on the back of the fridge..

PS.. Most common defrost problem on this model is not the board. Its either defrost heater or defrost thermostat..

L1 goes to 1-2 on Clock, L2 or Neutral to N on Clock, Defrost heater to 3 on Clock, Defrost Limit/Fan Delay to X on clock

The timer will advance whenever the cold control is on. (when the compressor is running, or the timer has advanced into a defrost cycle) When the refrig is cold enough (and the timer has not advanced into defrost) the timer will not be advancing. A typical defrost timer will count up 8 hours of compressor run time before going into a 30 minute defrost cycle. (the run time and defrost time can vary greatly from model to model)

Hi, sounds like your defrost clock is stuck in the defrost mode. On most true boxes they have a paragon defrost clock with adjustable pins you can set the amount of cycles and duration of the defrost cycle. Find the clock and give it a turn in the direction of the arrow or cw. It will come out of defrost and start to freeze again. If it continues, you may need a new clock. Let me know what you find. Some models are a manual defrost. That meant every 3-4 weeks you must unplug it and let it defrost. These types usually have no fan in the freezer, instead it's a cold plate. If there is a fan in your freezer section it should automatically defrost. You might have a bad defrost clock, or a bad defrost heater.

On the Traulsen reach-ins, the evaporator fan on a freezer will shut off during its defrost cycle. If the the display is indicating defrost, sounds like it is stuck in defrost.Depending on model, most due have a defrost clock mounted near the t-stat or where it is easy to locate. Compressor is probably on top. They normally use a paragon 120 or 240 volt time clock. They have 12 and 24hr. clocks also. Find this clock and watch it to see if it is working and if you have a meter, check for power to it.The contacts may just be stuck in the defrost posistion. Try and rotate it in the direction indicated to see if it comes out of defrost and starts operating. You will find pins, about 4 screwed into the dial at certain times as 12 midnight, 12 noon,6am and 6 pm.This is when the unit goes into defrost mode.See if the arrow is pointing to a pin. If so, it is stuck in defrost and timer may be faulty. There is also a dial in center of clock normally set for 35 to 45 min. which is the Lenth of time it will stay in defost.No need to change this. I am sure you will find that the defrost timer is you're problem.

Most residential units have the defroster clock in the base of unit towards the rear. It will probably be attached to a bracket with 2 screws. 3 or 4 wires wil be coming off it. ;)

The defrost clock may be starting to go bad. It will intermittently get stuck in defrost. The next time the unit warms try to locate this clock. Advance the knob and if the unit turns on you know the clock is getting stuck. :)
