My bb 9700 does not alert me on receipt of sms messages, it is also giving problems with sending of text messages, it does not show whether the message has been sent ot not, at times i have press send twice, and the message goes through to the recepient several times but without the device confirming that the message had been sent.

Or your phone isn't capable of texting internationally.If it's supposed to then you need to call Tracfone customer service and tell them.

You need to determin if the SMS icon is hidden first.
Main menu > BB menu key > Show all.

If this is not the case you need to look into the message folder, found within your email icon and view folders. If SMS is missing then a handset wipe will be required.

Take the battery out and place it back in again. This should do the trick. If it doesn't then you think about reloading the software.

You'll need to reconnect it to blackberry desktop manager and reload the software. Using a USB cable. Reload a lower software version say v4.6.0.301 (platform 4.1.1.245). This should solve the problem you're having.

In Nokia you can turn off receipts. You may need to get the manual out, but you do not have to have receipts, obviously a little money making scheme, like my voicemail access msgs costs me everytime!!!

SMS is Short Message Service. This is coming from a email address. you can send your self one to. [email protected] to send a normal Test alert via email send it to [email protected] were you see the 0000000000 put your Nextel number.

You can deactivate it by erasing unsend messages from your outbox and that's all. You will not prompted again for that.
