What does the blinking red light mean

Your user manual should provide some info. If not, consult with Radio Shack direct. I'm not familiar to this product so I can't tell you if the charger is defective or the battery needs replacement.

Yes, the blinking means that it IS charging.

I'm not sure which light you are referring to but my daughters dvd player blinks on the side right by the brightness controls when it is charging.

Call fisher price and tell them and they will refund up to $150.00 without a receipt if you paid more then that then you have to have receipt showing that. All of the kid tough dvd players are breaking thats why they are not selling them anymore. I hope I was helpful.

Check the Fisher Price website for an instruction manual. My daughter has one and when you plug it in and the red light is blinking that means the battery is charging. It has a battery pack inside (not removeable) that needs to be charged for 8 hours before the first use, but I'm guessing yours is used, so just let it charge until the light goes off.

The red light blinks during charging...when its solid or "off " it indicates a full charge.

The blinking went away as I had charged it for a very long time. However, it was noted that it would not work on the DVD. The battery needs to be replaced. That solved my problem. I still have to look for a new battery for this device: US Logic 680p DVD player with recharging capabilities due to the portability option. It works fine if plugged in, but the battery just needs to be replaced if I want to use it independent of the plug. Thanks for asking how I resolved the issue.

That means that the mp3 player is charging. Once fully charged, the light will remain red.
